Tønsberg Fotballklubb is a Norwegian association football club from Tønsberg, Vestfold. It was founded in 1985 as a merger between the football sections of Tønsbergs TF and IF Tønsberg-Kameratene. The team has played on the fourth or fifth tier of Norwegian football for the duration of its existence. The men's football team currently plays in the Fifth Division, the sixth tier of Norwegian football. In 2011 they withdrew their team, and was relegated from the Third Division. On 10 October 2001, it cooperated with 19 other teams in the region to form an elite umbrella team, FK Tønsberg FK Tønsberg was a football club from Tønsberg, Norway, founded on 10 October 2001 as a cooperation project between 20 local clubs. Tønsberg , historically Tunsberg, is a city and municipality in Vestfold og Telemark county, eastern Norway, located around south-southwest of Oslo on the western coast of the Oslofjord near its mouth onto the Skagerrak. Vestfold
Vestfold is a traditional region, a former county and a current electoral district in Eastern Norway. In 2020 the county became part of the much larger county of Vestfold og Telemark. Tønsbergs Turnforening, often called Tønsberg Turn is a Norway, Norwegian sports club from Tønsberg, Vestfold. Idrettsforeningen Tønsberg-Kameratene is a Norway, Norwegian sports club from Tønsberg, Vestfold. It has sections for boxing, sport wrestling and Olympic weightlifting, weightlifting. Norwegian Third Division
The Norwegian Third Division, also called 3. divisjon, is the fourth highest division of the men's football league in Norway. Like the rest of the Norwegian football league system, the season runs from spring to autumn, running approximately from April to October. After the 2010 season, the league was reorganised, reducing the number of teams to 164 and halving the number of parallel sections from 24 to 12.
