''Téras'' is the sixth studio album by Swedish black metal band Naglfar. It was released on 26 March 2012 through Century Media Records. It is their first album in five years, and their first album as a trio. Release ''Téras'' was released in different forms by the record label. It was released as a regular CD, as a digital download, as a limited edition deluxe CD digipak including a bonus track and a Naglfar logo patch, and finally as a deluxe gatefold double-LP on 180 gram vinyl (black or red), which included the bonus track and an etching on side D. Prior to the release of ''Téras'', Century Media Records released a 7" EP, limited to 500 hand-numbered copies. It was titled "An Extension of His Arm and Will", and included the exclusive non-album track "As Long As They Fear". Naglfar is a Swedish melodic black metal band formed in 1992. The group was formed by Jens Rydén and Kristoffer Olivius, originally under the name ''Uninterred''. The band had its first full line-up when Ulf Andersson from Nocturnal Rites joined the band to play drums, and Morgan Hansson and Fredrik Degerström joined on guitar. With this new line-up Rydén could concentrate on vocals. In March 1994, Degerström left Naglfar, due to personal issues with the band as well as musical differences. Blackened death metal (also known as black death metal) is an extreme subgenre of heavy metal that fuses elements of black metal and death metal. The genre emerged in early 1990s when black metal bands began incorporating elements of death metal and vice versa. The genre typically employs death growls, tremolo picking, blast beats, and Satanic lyrics and imagery. Bands of the genre typically employ corpse paint, which was adapted from black metal. Dirk Verbeuren
Dirk Verbeuren (born 8 January 1975) is a Belgian musician and the current drummer of American thrash metal band Megadeth, amongst other projects. He previously was a member of the Swedish melodic death metal band Soilwork. Verbeuren recorded five full-length albums and a live DVD/Blu-ray with Soilwork, and performed in Europe, the United States, Canada, Japan, Australia, Russia and China as a headlining act between early 2004 and July 2016. As of 2016, Verbeuren left Soilwork to join Megadeth as a full-time member. Influences Verbeuren cites Dave Lombardo and Mick Harris as earliest influences on his drumming.
