Tårnby Kommune
Tårnby () is a town in Denmark, the seat of Tårnby Municipality in the Capital Region of Denmark. It is located approximately south of central Copenhagen on the island of Amager. Neighbouring settlements include the Copenhagen suburb of Sundbyvester to the north and Kastrup to the south. Copenhagen Airport is situated to the east of Tårnby. It includes the islets Saltholm and Peberholm. History There's no clear date for the founding of Tårnby, but archaeological expeditions prior to the building of the Øresund Bridge suggest that the first traces of Tårnby originated around the 12th century around a farm from which the village grew. In the 16th century, Danish King Christian II invited Dutch settlers to Amager. That made Tårnby, like the neighbouring city of Dragør, also have some traces of Dutch history and culture. Carl Alstrup
Carl Alstrup (11 April 1877 – 2 October 1942) was a Danish actor and film director. He appeared in 22 films between 1908 and 1942. He also directed four films between 1909 and 1910. He was born in Sundbyvester, Tårnby, Denmark and died in Snekkersten, Denmark. 2008 Summer Olympics
The 2008 Summer Olympics (), officially the Games of the XXIX Olympiad () and also known as Beijing 2008 (), were an international multisport event held from 8 to 24 August 2008, in Beijing, China. A total of 10,942 athletes from 204 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) competed in 28 sports and 302 events, one event more than those scheduled for the 2004 Summer Olympics. This was the first time China had hosted the Olympic Games, and the third time the Summer Olympic Games had been held in East Asia, following the 1964 Olympics in Tokyo, Japan, and the 1988 Olympics in Seoul, South Korea. Mads Glæsner
Mads Glæsner (born 18 October 1988 in Tårnby) is a Danish swimmer. He participated at the 2008 Summer Olympics in the 400 metre freestyle and the 1500 metre freestyle disciplines. His swimming club is Vallensbæk-VAT but he trains at the National Training Center in Copenhagen. He competed at the 2012 Summer Olympics in the 400 m freestyle and the 4 x 200 m freestyle relay. In June 2013, Glæsner was stripped of a gold and bronze medal from the 2012 World Short Course Championships after testing positive for levomethamphetamine. However, upon appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport, Glaesner's 1500-metre freestyle gold medal was reinstated based on the fact that a test after that race, two days after his initial positive test following the 400-metre free, was clean. He still forfeited the 400-metre freestyle bronze, which he did not appeal. Kolding IF
Kolding IF is an association football club based in Kolding, Denmark. The team competes in the Danish 2nd Division, the third tier of Danish football, after suffering relegation at the end of the 2020–21 season. Founded in 1895, Kolding IF played in the top-flight 1982 and 1983 Danish 1st Division championships. In 2002, they joined forces with Kolding Boldklub, the other major football club in Kolding, to form the cooperative Kolding FC first team. Niki Zimling
Niki Dige Zimling (born 19 April 1985) is a Danish former professional footballer and current U19 manager of AGF. He was named 2006 Danish ''under-21 Talent of the Year'', and has played 24 games for the Danish national team. Career Brøndby IF Born in Tårnby, Denmark, Zimling started his football career at AB 70 when he was four years old. Zimling then joined Tårnby Boldklub, Fremad Amager and Kjøbenhavns Boldklub before he moved on to join the youth team of Brøndby. Zimling then progressed through the club's youth system and contributed well for the team, scoring on a regular basis. Angelina Jensen
Angelina Camilla Jensen (born 23 May 1973) is a Danish curler from Kastrup. Jensen has won two bronze medals in six attempts at the World Junior Curling Championships. She won her first bronze in 1993 playing third for Dorthe Holm and won bronze again in 1994 skipping. She had also played on the Danish team at the 1989, 1990, 1991 and 1992 Junior Championships. Jensen played in her first World Curling Championship in 1994 throwing third stones for Helena Blach Lavrsen. Denmark finished 9th that year. Jensen would not return to the Worlds again until 2006, when she threw lead rocks but also skipped. Denmark finished in sixth place. At the 2007 World Women's Curling Championship, Jensen threw second rocks and skipped, and won her first medal at the Worlds- a silver when she lost 8–4 to Canada (skipped by Kelly Scott) in the final. The Denmark men's national football team ( da, Danmarks herre-fodboldlandshold or ''herrelandsholdet'') represents Denmark in men's international football competitions. It is controlled by the Danish Football Association (DBU), the governing body for the football clubs which are organised under DBU. Jan Heintze
Jan Heintze (born 17 August 1963) is a Danish former professional footballer who played as a left-sided defensive midfielder and defender. He ended his career in the Netherlands with PSV Eindhoven, where he was a part of the PSV team which won the 1988 European Cup. He played 86 matches for the Denmark national team in the course of 15 years, playing four international tournaments with the team, which he captained in his last two years before he retired in 2003. Morten Ristorp
Morten Ristorp Jensen (born 3 April 1986), known professionally as "Rissi", is a Danish producer, composer, songwriter and musician, as well as co-founder and previous member of Future Animals. Personal life Morten Ristorp Jensen was born in 1986 at Rigshospitalet, Copenhagen, Denmark. He grew up in Tårnby (Amager) with his parents and two older siblings. He attended Løjtegårdsskolen (elementary school) and graduated in 2002 and went to Sankt Annæ Gymnasium on its special Basic Music Program (MGK). Fallulah
Fallulah (born 6 February 1985) is a Danish-Romanian singer-songwriter and musician. Her given name is Maria Apetri. Following a short dancing career, she entered the music industry and released her debut album in 2010 which peaked at number three in Denmark and went on to be certified platinum. Early life Fallulah grew up in Tårnby on Amager island, the southern suburbs of Copenhagen. She attended Kalundborg Gymnasium. Her Danish mother, Lillian Apetri and her Romanian father Nicolae Apetri, were the initiators of the Balkanic folklore dance group Crihalma. Therefore, Fallulah spent much of her childhood on dancing tours in the Balkans and in Eastern Europe. This activity ceased when she lost her father at the age of nine years.
