Tyson Slattery
Tyson Slattery (born 3 December 1990) is an Australian rules footballer who was drafted by Essendon in the fifth round of the 2008 AFL Draft. He is the son of Wayne Slattery, a former St Kilda player. After playing for all of 2009 and most of 2010 for the Bendigo Bombers in the Victorian Football League, Slattery made his AFL debut for Essendon in Round 14 of the 2010 AFL season. He was involved in a controversial shepherd on Adelaide's Bernie Vince Bernard Vince (born 2 October 1985) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Adelaide Football Club, Adelaide and Melbourne Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Shepherd (Australian Rules Football)
Shepherding is a tactic and skill in Australian rules football, a team sport. Shepherding is the act of legally pushing, bumping or blocking an opposing player from gaining possession of the ball or reaching the contest. The term originates from the word shepherd, someone who influences the movement of sheep in a paddock. Through shepherding, Australian football players are able to influence the movement of their opponents. The prevalence of shepherding is distinctive in Australian rules football as it is an illegal form of play in many other codes of football where it is subject to obstruction rules. It is completely banned in soccer. In rugby, it is illegal to tackle or obstruct any player not carrying the ball. Ice hockey allows body checking only on a player in possession (until the puck reaches any other player), as does gaelic football. Bernie Vince
Bernard Vince (born 2 October 1985) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Adelaide Football Club, Adelaide and Melbourne Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He has since become involved in the football media, working for Triple M and Fox Footy. At the time of his retirement, Vince was only one of seven players in VFL/AFL history to have played 100 or more games at two clubs and win the best and fairest award at both clubs. The Bendigo Gold Football Club was an Australian rules football club based in Bendigo, Victoria, Australia. The club played in the Victorian Football League (VFL) from 1998 until 2014, under the nicknames Diggers, Bombers and Gold at different times.
