Tyrone Holmes (American Football)
Tyrone Anthony Holmes (born September 10, 1993) is a former American football outside linebacker. He was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the sixth round of the 2016 NFL Draft. He played college football at Montana. Professional career Jacksonville Jaguars Holmes was drafted by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the sixth round with the 181st overall pick in the 2016 NFL Draft. On September 3, 2016, he was released by the Jaguars. Cleveland Browns Holmes was claimed off waivers by the Cleveland Browns on September 4, 2016. On September 3, 2017, Holmes was waived by the Browns, but was re-signed on September 7. He was waived again on September 16, 2017 and re-signed to the practice squad. Linebacker (LB) is a playing position in gridiron football. Linebackers are members of the defensive team, and line up three to five yards behind the line of scrimmage and the defensive linemen. They are the "middle ground" of defenders, playing closer to the line of scrimmage than the defensive backs (secondary), but farther back than the defensive linemen. As such, linebackers play a hybrid role and are often the most versatile players on the defensive side of the ball; they can be asked to play roles similar to either a defensive lineman (such as stopping the runner on a running play) or a defensive back (such as dropping back into pass coverage). The 2016 NFL Draft was the 81st annual meeting of National Football League (NFL) franchises to select newly eligible American football players. As in 2015, the draft took place at the Auditorium Theatre and Grant Park in Chicago. The draft began on Thursday, April 28 with the first round, and ended on Saturday, April 30.
