The Tirol Panorama with the Museum of the Imperial Infantry or Tirol Panorama (german: Das Tirol Panorama mit Kaiserjägermuseum) is a museum in Innsbruck in the Austrian state of Tyrol, which is mainly important because it houses the Innsbruck Giant Panorama Painting. Location and access The Tyrol Panorama Museum is at Bergisel in the south of the city. It is accessible on public transport using the IVB lines, ''Sightseer'', Lines 1 and 6, as well as the Stubai Valley Railway and Stubai Valley Bus. Tyrol (; historically the Tyrole; de-AT, Tirol ; it, Tirolo) is a historical region in the Alps - in Northern Italy and western Austria. ''Tiroler Tageszeitung'' (also known as ''TT'') is a provincial daily newspaper published in Innsbruck, Austria. The paper has been in circulation since 1945. History and profile ''TT'' was first published on 11 June 1945. During this period Austria was ruled by the Allies following World War II. Its foundation was supported by the French and Americans, but it was under the influence of the former. Later the ownership of ''TT'' was transferred to Austrians. Claudia Schmied (May 10, 1959) is an Austrian politician, a member of the Social Democratic Party of Austria. She was born in Vienna and attended elementary school and secondary school there. Schmied went on to study business administration at the Vienna University of Economics and Business. She worked at the Investkredit Bank AG from 1983 to 1997. The International Panorama Council (IPC) is a nongovernmental, not-for-profit organization, subject to Swiss law. It is a global network involving museum directors, managers, artists, restorers and historians who deal with the historical or the contemporary art and media forms of the panorama. The ''Kronen Zeitung'' (), commonly known as the ''Krone'', is Austria's largest newspaper. It is known for being Eurosceptic. History The first issue of the ''Kronen Zeitung'' appeared on 2 January 1900. Gustav Davis, a former army officer, was the founder. The name referred to the monthly purchase price of one crown (it did not refer to the monarchic crown), recently made possible after the abolition of bureaucratic duties on newspapers (''Zeitungsstempelgebühr'') on 31 December 1899. Battle Of Bergisel
The Battles of Bergisel were four battles fought between Tyrolese civilian militiamen and a contingent of Austrian government troops and the military forces of Emperor Napoleon I of France and King of Kingdom of Bavaria against at the Bergisel hill near Innsbruck. The battles, which occurred on 25 May, 29 May, 13 August, and 1 November 1809, were part of the Tyrolean Rebellion and the War of the Fifth Coalition. The Tyrolean civilian forces, loyal to Austria, were led by militia commander Andreas Hofer, Josef Speckbacher, Peter Mayr, Capuchin Father Joachim Haspinger, and Major Martin Teimer. The Bavarians were led by French Marshal François Joseph Lefebvre, and Bavarian Generals Bernhard Erasmus von Deroy and Karl Philipp von Wrede.
