Typhoon Over Nagasaki
''Typhoon Over Nagasaki'' (French: ''Typhon sur Nagasaki'') is a 1957 French-Japanese romantic drama film directed by Yves Ciampi and starring Danielle Darrieux, Jean Marais, Keiko Kishi and Gert Fröbe.Parish p.361 It was shot in Japan in Nagasaki, Hiroshima and Osaka. The film's sets were designed by the art directors Robert Gys and Kisaku Itô. Plot Pierre Marsac, a French engineer working at the Nagasaki shipbuilding yards is in love with a young local woman Noriko Sakurai. However, when he encounters a former lover, the journalist Françoise Fabre he drifts apart from Noriko. Tragedy strikes when a typhoon overwhelms the region. Yves Ciampi (; 9 February 1921 – 5 November 1982) was a French film director. He was married to Japanese people, Japanese actress Kishi Keiko from 1957 to 1975. His 1965 film ''Heaven on One's Head'' was entered into the 4th Moscow International Film Festival where it won a Golden Prize. Kumeko Urabe
Kumeko Urabe ( ja, link=no, 浦辺粂子) (October 5, 1902 – October 26, 1989) was a Japanese movie actress, and one of the first in the country. Born Kimura Kume, she also adopted the stage names Kumeko Ichijo, Toyama Midori, Chidori Shizuura and Chidori Toyama. She worked on stage and in film and television. Urabe was born in a rural part of the Shizuoka Prefecture. She lived in several homes while growing up, as she relocated with her father, a Buddhist priest, among the temples to which he was assigned. Urabe completed her education in Numazu, and left school in 1919 to join a theatre company, touring under various stage names as an actor and dancer. was a Japanese actor and film director. He was also known by the name Satoshi Yamamura, while his actual birth name is Koga Hirosada. Yamamura graduated from University of Tokyo. In 1942, Yamamura and Isao Yamagata formed the ''Bunkaza Theatre Company''. He began his career as a screen actor in 1946 and appeared in more than 110 films between 1947 and 1991.
