Gordon Muchall (born 2 November 1982) is a former English professional cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman and a right arm medium pace bowler. Nicky Peng (born Nicky Peng Gillender on 18 September 1982) is a former English cricketer. He was a right-handed batsman and off-spin bowler. Born in Northumberland and educated at the Royal Grammar School, Newcastle, Includes biographies of all the England squad's players. Peng is a graduate of the Durham Cricket Academy, who was given his chance at cricket after impressing at Chelmsford. In 2000, he became the youngest Durham player to participate in the County Championship, and on his debut in the same year he made 98 runs, since bested by an innings of 139 against Sunderland. He represented England Under-19s in the 1999 European championship, and against Sri Lanka in 2000, and the next year was voted Durham's Young Player of the Year. Cricket is a bat-and-ball game played between two teams of eleven players on a field at the centre of which is a pitch with a wicket at each end, each comprising two bails balanced on three stumps. The batting side scores runs by striking the ball bowled at one of the wickets with the bat and then running between the wickets, while the bowling and fielding side tries to prevent this (by preventing the ball from leaving the field, and getting the ball to either wicket) and dismiss each batter (so they are "out"). Means of dismissal include being bowled, when the ball hits the stumps and dislodges the bails, and by the fielding side either catching the ball after it is hit by the bat, but before it hits the ground, or hitting a wicket with the ball before a batter can cross the crease in front of the wicket. Tynemouth
Tynemouth () is a coastal town in the metropolitan borough of North Tyneside, North East England. It is located on the north side of the mouth of the River Tyne, hence its name. It is 8 mi (13 km) east-northeast of Newcastle upon Tyne. It is also home to Tynemouth Priory. Historically part of Northumberland until 1974, the town was a county borough which included the nearby town of North Shields. In 2001, the population of the town was recorded at 17,056. History The headland towering over the mouth of the River Tyne has been settled since the Iron Age. The Romans may have occupied it as a signal station, though it is just north of the Hadrian's Wall frontier (the Roman fort and supply depot of Arbeia stands almost opposite it on the southern headland of the Tyne).
