Tym (Sakhalin)
The Tym (russian: Тымь) is a river on the island of Sakhalin, Russia, and the second longest river on the island after the Poronay. It is long, and has a drainage basin of . The name of the river is translated from Nivkh as "spawning river." The river flows through Tymovsky and Nogliki Districts of Sakhalin Oblast. It begins on the southern slopes of Mount Lopatin in the East Sakhalin Mountains, flows through swampy lowlands in the Tym-Poronaiskaya Valley, and finally flows into Nyisky Bay in the Sea of Okhotsk. The villages of Tymovskoye and Nogliki are located beside the river. The river is mostly fed by snowmelt. The Tym freezes between November and early December, and the spring break occurs between the end of April and May.Тымь

Alice Luthy Tym (born November 22, 1942), née Alice Luthy, is a former American college and amateur tennis player who was ranked No. 13 in the world in the mid-1960s. She later became a college tennis coach, tennis writer and university instructor. Stanisław Tym (born 17 July 1937 in Małkinia) is a Polish, actor, comedian, journalist and satirist, as well as a film and theatre director and writer. He coproduced and starred in many films of Stanisław Bareja, he gained much fame for his performance in the cult film of Marek Piwowski, ''Rejs'' (''The Cruise''). Joseph John "Tym" Tymczyszyn
Joseph John "Tym" Tymczyszyn (August 12, 1918 – February 19, 1999) was an American World War II Aviator, pilot, and test pilot for the United States Army Air Corps and the Federal Aviation Administration. Early life and education He was born in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania in 1918, the second son of Poles, Polish immigrants Anna and Tadeusz Tymczyszyn who lived and worked in the coal mines near his home in eastern Pennsylvania. Tymczyszyn became an instructor for the Civilian Pilot Training Corps, teaching college students to fly in anticipation of war. He served as an instructor pilot and engineering pilot in the Pacific during World War II, flying the North American P-51 Mustang and Lockheed P-38 Lightning. After the war, he settled in Kirkland, Washington and attended the University of Washington, Tymczyszyn received his Bachelor of Science degree in Aeronautical Engineering in 1948.
