Timothy Tyler Andrew Walker (born July 15, 1979) is an American professional stock car racing driver. Walker is one of many racers who have competed in many interdisciplinary automotive ranks. His automotive exploits include cycling competition, open-wheeled sprint cars, where has obtained a large majority of his success and notoriety, as well as being a stock car pilot, formerly competing in the prestigious NASCAR ranks. The first fourth-generation driver to compete in NASCAR since the late Adam Petty, Walker is but one member of a racing legacy. Racing career Early career Walker began his racing career in two-wheeled vehicles. He started competing bicycles at the age of six and upgraded to motorcycles at the age of eight years. He then upgraded to go-karts, and won four California state karting championships and had a total of 200 wins. The Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) is an auto racing sanctioning body in the United States, founded in 1953 by John Marcum. The current president of ARCA is Ron Drager, who took over the position in 1996 following the death of Bob Loga. The ARCA Menards Series races stock cars similar to those seen in past years in the NASCAR Cup Series, and indeed most cars used in the Menards Series were previously used in NASCAR. Timothy J. Beverley (born 1956) is former NASCAR team owner. Beverley was one of the founders of Tyler Jet, L.L.C., an aircraft sales and refurbishing company based in Tyler, Texas. In 1998, he purchased DarWal Inc. and ISM Racing and merged them together to form Tyler Jet Motorsports. He fielded cars for Darrell Waltrip, Rich Bickle, David Green and Johnny Benson. In 2000, he sold the team to MB2 Motorsports. Beverley started Tyler Jet L.L.C. in 1986. Tyler Jet was a thriving business that bought, sold and repaired aircraft, operated an FBO and ran a business aircraft interior completions and refurbishment center. Tyler Jet Motorsports was a NASCAR Winston Cup Series team. History Tyler Jet Motorsports was owned by Tim Beverley, owner of the airplane sales company that shared a name with the race team, and was formed in 1998 after Beverley purchased the assets of DarWal, Inc. and ISM Racing and merged them into one team. Tyler Jet's original car was the No. 35 Tabasco Pontiac, which had been ISM's car, and was driven by several drivers (including Darrell Waltrip) before Tabasco pulled out of NASCAR following the 1998 season. Manzanita Speedway
The Manzanita Speedway was a dirt track racing facility located in the suburban southwestern part of Phoenix, Arizona, United States. The facility had a 1/3 mile and 1/2 mile tracks. The track held USAC events up through the 2009 Sprint Car season opener. The track was sold to a rigging company and the final race was held on April 11, 2009. History Originally a dog-racing track known as Manzanita Park, it was converted into a 1/4 mile jalopy race track during the summer of 1951. American Speed Association
The American Speed Association (ASA) is a sanctioning body of motorsports in the United States formed in 1968. The Association was based in Pendleton, Indiana, Pendleton, Indiana, and later in Daytona Beach, Florida. The ASA sanctioned asphalt and dirt tracks in their ASA Member Track program along with racing series in the United States and Canada.
