Albert Tye
Albert Edward Tye (1883 – 25 January 1917) was an English professional footballer who played in the Football League for Chesterfield Town and Burton United as a left half and left back. Personal life Following his football career, Tye lived in Burton upon Trent and worked as a painter. On 22 January 1915, six months after the outbreak of the First World War, Tye enlisted as a private in the Prince of Wales's (North Staffordshire Regiment). Tye Kartye
Tye Kartye ( ; born April 30, 2001) is a Canadian professional ice hockey winger who is currently playing with the Seattle Kraken in the National Hockey League (NHL). Playing career Junior Kartye played two seasons of junior hockey with the Greater Kingston Jr. Frontenacs of the Eastern AAA Hockey League. During the 2017–18 season, he managed 28 goals at 23 assists in 36 games. He was then selected in the 8th round (158th overall) in the 2017 OHL Priority Selection by the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds. Kartye then played three seasons for the Greyhounds, starting during the 2018–19 season. However, even after managing 24 points with the Greyhounds, Kartye was still passed over during the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. During the 2020–21 season, Kartye recorded 25 goals and 28 assists in 64 games. During the 2021–22 season, he improved those numbers with 45 goals and 34 assists in 63 games. Tye is a city in Taylor County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,242 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Abilene, Texas Metropolitan Statistical Area. Geography Tye is located at (32.453324, –99.866993). According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 4.7 square miles (12.1 km), all land. City History About 1900 the T & P Railroad held a contest to select a name for one of the communities along its route. The town name chosen was Tye. It is in honor of John P. Tye, a Methodist minister who happened to be the first postmaster of the town. Before 1900 the town name had been Tebo. Hayling Island
Hayling Island is an island off the south coast of England, in the borough of Havant in the county of Hampshire, east of Portsmouth. History An Iron Age shrine in the north of Hayling Island was later developed into a Roman temple in the 1st century BC and was first recorded in Richard Scott's ''Topographical and Historical Account of Hayling Island'' (1826). The site was dug between 1897 and 1907 and again from 1976 to 1978. The remains are now buried under farmland. The first coin credited to Commius that was found in an archaeological dig was found at the temple. This Commius was probably the son of the Commius mentioned by Julius Caesar, although it is possible the coin was issued by the same Commius. Elliott Tyrone Waller (born March 14, 1957) or more commonly known as Tye Waller or Ty Waller, is a former Major League Baseball third baseman. He was also a coach for the Oakland Athletics from 2007 to 2015. Playing career Waller was drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the 33rd round of the 1975 Major League Baseball Draft, but did not sign. He was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 4th round of the 1977 January amateur draft, and signed in May. After the 1980 season, St. Louis sent Waller to the Chicago Cubs as the player to be named later in an earlier trade that sent Leon Durham and Ken Reitz for Bruce Sutter.
