Two To One
''Two to One'' is Thelma Houston's seventh studio album released on Motown Records in June 1978. It was her second duets album with Jerry Butler, composed of only two left-over duets from their ''Thelma & Jerry'' album from the previous year, "If It Would Never End" and "You Gave Me Love", padded out with previously unreleased solo recordings by each singer, Houston's "Find a Way", "I'm Not Strong Enough (To Love You Again)" and "Don't Pity Me", while Butler's tracks included "We Owe It to Ourselves", "Never Gonna Get Enough" and "Chicago Send Her Home". Thelma Houston ( Jackson; born May 7, 1946) Retrieved . is an American singer. Beginning her recording career in the late 1960s, Houston scored a number-one hit record in 1977 with her recording of "Don't Leave Me This Way", which won the Grammy for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance. Biography Early life and career Houston was born in Leland, Mississippi. Her mother was a cotton picker. She and her three sisters grew up primarily in Long Beach, California. After marrying and having two children, she joined the Art Reynolds Singers gospel group and was subsequently signed as a recording artist with Dunhill Records. Jerry Butler Jr. (born December 8, 1939) is an American soul singer-songwriter, producer, musician, and retired politician. He was the original lead singer of the R&B vocal group the Impressions, inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1991. After leaving the group in 1960, Butler achieved over 55 ''Billboard'' Pop and R&B Chart hits as a solo artist including "He Will Break Your Heart", " Let It Be Me" and " Only the Strong Survive".
