Reuben (band)
Reuben were an English three-piece musical group from Camberley, Surrey. Their music is a fusion of alternative rock and heavy metal, as their songs cover a variety of styles, ranging from heavy and upbeat, such as their 2005 single " Blamethrower" to slower, more melodic songs such as their 2004 single " Moving to Blackwater". The former style of song often featured vocalist Jamie Lenman switching between shouting and whispering, a technique often used in heavy metal and post-hardcore music. The band performed in the UK underground music scene. Although they attracted a significant fanbase, Reuben never achieved mainstream success, but did chart four songs in the UK Singles Chart. Their highest charting single was 2004's " Freddy Kreuger", that reached UK No. 53. In June 2008, Reuben entered a state of indefinite hiatus. The Ghost Of A Thousand
The Ghost of a Thousand were an English five-piece punk rock band from Brighton, England. Career The Ghost of a Thousand formed in the Winter of 2004 in Brighton and began touring extensively, playing alongside Blood Red Shoes, Poison the Well, This is Hell, Gallows, Alexisonfire and Cancer Bats among others. In February 2007 the band released their debut album This is Where the Fight Begins on UK label Undergroove Records, and that summer they made their Reading and Leeds Festivals debut on the Lock-Up Stage. In October 2008 bassist Gez Walton left the band, at the time citing musical differences; however, Walton was in fact sacked from the band. The band's previous bassist Gaz Spencer returned in his place. In February 2009, the band announced they had signed with Epitaph Records, becoming the first British act to do so not solely for distribution. Baddies
Baddies were a British high energy indie rock band formed in late 2007 and played through 2012. ''Baddies with Attitude BBC Introducing included them on their BBC Introducing stage at One Big Weekend as tipped by BBC Essex Introducing. They are set to support other BBC Introducing acts such as Marina & the Diamonds, Temper Trap, Little Commets & Master Shortie. In May 2009 BBC Essex Introducing further backed the act in the form of a live session and Glastonbury Festival announced that they would be playing on the John Peel stage. The debut album ''Do The Job'' was released on 28 September 2009 on Medical Records. It was recorded at Rockfield Studios by Sean Genockey, with additional work taking place at Black Dog Studios. In Nothing We Trust
''In Nothing We Trust'' is Reuben's third studio album, released on 25 June 2007. It was mastered in February 2007 by Howie Weinberg (Nirvana, Engerica, Helmet) in New York. The album was recorded, produced and mixed at Livingstone Studios in London and Soul Valley Studios in Wimbledon by Sean Genockey (Engerica, Smother) with additional engineering by Ed Woods (credited as Edrin Piece). The band uploaded short videos on YouTube for each day in the recording studio. These videos are on the band's DVD, ''What Happens in Aldershot Stays in Aldershot'', and can also be seen on YouTube. Background The album was the first to be released on Reuben's self-run label, Hideous Records. On 29 March 2007, the band revealed the first single from the album will be titled, " Blood, Bunny, Larkhall", due for release a week prior to the album. Engerica were an English alternative rock band heavily influenced by metal, grunge and punk. Despite that the band gained a cult like following and towards the end of their career received support from major British music industry publications including ''Kerrang!'', ''Rock Sound'', '' Big Cheese'' and ''Metal Hammer'' music magazines.
