Tweekend
''Tweekend'' is the second studio album by American electronic music duo The Crystal Method, released on July 31, 2001, by Outpost Recordings and Geffen Records. The album title is derived from the demise of the West Coast rave scene in the late 1990s and 2000s. The album features the single " Name of the Game", which has been featured in many films, television series and commercials. The other two singles from the album were "Murder" and "Wild, Sweet and Cool". Commercial performance ''Tweekend'' debuted at #32 on the Billboard 200 in the United States, Crystal Method's highest position on that chart in their history. It also debuted at #6 on the Canadian Albums Chart, selling 9,603 copies in its first week. The Crystal Method
The Crystal Method is an American electronic music act formed in Las Vegas, Nevada, by Ken Jordan and Scott Kirkland in the early 1990s. They were pioneers of the big beat genre and their music has appeared in numerous TV shows, films, video games, and advertisements. Their 1997 debut studio album ''Vegas'' was certified platinum in 2007, and saw follow-ups ''Tweekend'', '' Legion of Boom'', ''Divided by Night'', and ''The Crystal Method''. In 2017, Ken Jordan retired from music and left the group, with Scott Kirkland adopting The Crystal Method as a solo moniker. Ronald K. Keys Jr. aka DJ Swamp is an American hip hop DJ, turntablist, producer and vocalist. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, United States. He currently resides in Los Angeles, United States. In 1996, he won the title of US DMC Champion, his first year entering the tournament. Swamp toured with Beck for four years and later broke away into a solo career with his release "Never is Now" in 2001. Alternative Press gave "Never is Now" an 8/10 rating. His follow-up, a drum 'n' bass EP, ''Instruments of Torture'', was recorded with Jack Dangers of Meat Beat Manifesto. ''Vinyl Disciple'' produced several music videos, including four 3D music videos. Name Of The Game (The Crystal Method Song)
"Name of the Game" is the first single from The Crystal Method's second studio album, ''Tweekend''. Despite the popularity of the song, The Crystal Method almost never play it live. The track features guitars by Tom Morello, vocals by Ryan "Ryu" Maginn, and scratching by DJ Swamp; it also contains samples from "Calling All Freaks" (1974) by Tina Dixon. The song enjoyed mainstream success as well as remixes by popular artists. Music video The music video for the song (directed by Marcos Siega) features the exploits of the character Nosey, who is named so because his entire face is covered up by a giant nose. Scenes in the video depict Nosey participating in sports, breakdancing, and a relationship that falls apart quickly. He gets back to his friends to breakdance and they get to do some until the police arrive and arrest him for unknown reasons. At the end of the video, the words "to be continued ..." are shown. ''Legion of Boom'' is the third studio album by American electronic music duo The Crystal Method. It was released on January 13, 2004, by V2 Records. The album features contributions from Milla Jovovich and Kyuss lead singer John Garcia, and also contains guitar riffs courtesy of Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland (who also co-produced three tracks) and vocal talents by beatboxer Rahzel. Its title is likely a reference to the supervillain team Legion of Doom. Background The album was nominated for a Grammy in the " Best Electronica/Dance Album" category in 2005, the first year that any award was given out for that category. Doug Grean is an American record producer, audio engineer, guitarist, based in Los Angeles. He has worked with artists Sheryl Crow, Ricki Lee Jones, Glen Campbell, Scott Weiland, Slash, Velvet Revolver, Stone Temple Pilots, The Crystal Method, Tim McGraw, Cyndi Lauper, Annabella Lwin (Bow Wow Wow), Corey Glover (Living Color), Camp Freddy, DJ Hurricane and John Taylor ( Duran Duran). Thomas Baptist Morello (born May 30, 1964) is an American guitarist, singer, songwriter, and political activist. He is best known for his tenure with the rock band Rage Against the Machine and then with Audioslave. Between 2016 and 2019, Morello was a member of the supergroup Prophets of Rage. Morello was also a touring musician with Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. He is also known for his acoustic solo act, the Nightwatchman, and Street Sweeper Social Club.
