Tvrdošín District
Tvrdošín District (''okres Tvrdošín'') is a Districts of Slovakia, district in the Žilina Region of central Slovakia. The district was first established in 1996; in 1923 it had been a part of Trstená District. Districts Of Slovakia
The districts of Slovakia are administrative units known as in the Slovak language. It is a second-tier territorial administrative unit, below a Region () in standing, and superior to a municipality (). Each district contains at least several municipalities. The cities of Bratislava and Košice are the only cities in Slovakia divided into internal urban districts, with five in Bratislava, and four in Košice. These urban districts are then further divided into smaller boroughs (which serve a function analogous to municipalities in typical districts). All other districts are larger in size and also include rural areas, and rural as well as urban municipalities. Each of these more typical districts has an urban centre serving as the seat of the district, usually the largest town (or the only town) of a given district. Habovka
Habovka is a village and municipality in Tvrdošín District in the Žilina Region of northern Slovakia. History In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1593. The first settlers came from the Polish village of Chabówka, which lent the settlement its name. Geography The municipality lies at an altitude of 730 metres and covers an area of 29.414 km². Trstená ( or ''Árvanádasd''; ; German: ''Bingenstadt'') is a town in Tvrdošín District, Žilina Region, Northern Slovakia. Suchá Hora
Suchá Hora ( Polish: ''Sucha Góra Orawska ;'' also known by other names) is a village and municipality in Tvrdošín District in the Žilina Region of northern Slovakia. History The area became part of Poland in the 10th or early 11th century, and later it passed to Hungary. The village was founded in the mid 16th century based on Wallachian Law.
