The Czech Republic National Basketball League (NBL) ( cs, Národní Basketbalová Liga) is the top-tier level professional basketball league in the Czech Republic. It is run by the Asociace Ligových Klubů. The league operates under a promotion and relegation system. The bottom two NBL teams from each season's standings are relegated to the 2nd-tier level 1. Svitavy (; german: Zwittau) is a town in the Pardubice Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 16,000 inhabitants. It is the birthplace of Oskar Schindler and the centre of the Czech Esperanto movement. The historic town centre is well preserved and is protected by law as an urban monument zone. Administrative parts Svitavy is made up of town parts of Lačnov, Lány, Město and Předměstí. Etymology Svitavy was named after the river Svitava. The river's name referred to its clear water and was derived from ''svítat'', which meant "be clear" in Old Czech. Geography Svitavy is located about southeast of Pardubice and north of Brno. It lies in the Svitavy Uplands. The Svitava River springs in the municipal territory and flows through the town. Except for a few small bodies of water, there are two significant fish ponds on the Svitava near the town, Svitavský and Rosnička. FIBA Europe Cup
The FIBA Europe Cup (FEC) is an annual professional club basketball competition organised by FIBA for eligible European clubs. It is FIBA's European-wide second level. Clubs mainly qualify for the competition based on their performance in national leagues and cup competitions, although this is not the sole deciding factor.
