Tuscola Township, Tuscola County, Michigan
Tuscola Township is a civil township of Tuscola County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 2,082 at the 2010 Census. The city of Vassar is to the northeast and incorporates some land from the survey township that forms the basis for the present civil township. History The township was established in 1840 as a township of Saginaw County and encompassed all of Tuscola County, which had been created by an Act of the Michigan Legislature on April 1, 1840, from land in Sanilac County and attached for administrative purposes to Saginaw County. Communities * Tuscola is an unincorporated community in the Township North and South of the Cass River in section 28 at Bray Road . A post off named "Worth" was established on March 6, 1848, with Ebenezer Davis as the first postmaster. The name changed to Tuscola on January 8, 1875. Saginaw County, officially the County of Saginaw, is a county located in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2020 Census, the population was 190,124. The county seat is Saginaw. The county was created by September 10, 1822, and was fully organized on February 9, 1835. The etymology of the county's name is uncertain. It may be derived from ''Sace-nong'' or ''Sak-e-nong'' ( en, link=no, Sauk land), as the Sauk (french: link=no, Sac) tribe is believed by some to have once lived there. Blumfield Township, Michigan
Blumfield Township is a civil township of Saginaw County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2010 Census, the township population was 1,960. History Blumfield Township was established in 1853. It was the site of one sawmill and several farms around 1880. At that point it had been primarily settled by immigrants from Germany. Birch Run Township is a civil township of Saginaw County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2010 Census, the township population was 6,033. The village of Birch Run is located within the township. History Birth Run Township was established in 1853. Joseph Matheson was elected the first supervisor with 18 votes to 17 for Proctor Williams, at whose house the initial election was held. On July 7, 1870, a U.S. Post Office opened at the county line with Genesee County on the north side of Wilard Road at the rail tracks as Hughesville.
