Turma Do Lambe-Lambe
''Turma do Lambe-Lambe'' was a Brazilian media franchise created by comic book artist Daniel Azulay in 1975. The franchise follows a group of characters that consist of human kids and anthropomorphic animals. It was publicly recognized in 1976 when Daniel Azulay signed a contract with the channel TV Educativa (currently known as TV Brasil) to present a children's show, known as ''A Turma do Lambe-Lambe'', from which he used these characters. The program, however, was more successful on Rede Bandeirantes, where it was broadcast until 1986 and marked a legacy as one of the most popular children's shows in Brazil during the 1980s. During this time, A Turma do Lambe-Lambe produced a series of comic books and several LP albums, which were subsequently re-released in CD format.. José Carioca
José "Zé" Carioca (; ) is a cartoon anthropomorphic parrot created by the Brazilian cartoonist José Carlos de Brito (J. Carlos) and shown to Walt Disney in his trip to Rio de Janeiro in 1941. The Walt Disney Company then incorporated the idea, being introduced in the 1942 film ''Saludos Amigos'' as a friend of Donald Duck, described by ''Time'' as "a dapper Brazilian parrot, who is as superior to Donald Duck as the Duck was to Mickey Mouse". Editora Abril is a major Brazilian publisher and printing company and one of the biggest media holdings in Latin America. The company was founded in 1950 by Victor Civita in São Paulo and is now part of Grupo Abril. Civita had initially founded his publisher as Editora Primavera, publishing an unsuccessful comic magazine named in Brazil ''Raio Vermelho''. Daniel Azulay
Daniel Azulay (May 30, 1947 – March 27, 2020) was a Brazilian visual artist, comic book artist, and educator, with vast and diverse performance in the press and on TV as a draftsman. He is most known for the children's franchise ''Turma do Lambe-Lambe''. He died during the COVID-19 pandemic due to complications brought on by COVID-19. Biography Azulay was born in Rio de Janeiro and raised in Ipanema. He was of Jewish origin and the youngest son of lawyer Fortunato and Clarita, who drew a classic design in Paris. In 1968, he created the newspaper strip Capitão Cipó, published in the newspaper ''Correio da Manhã'' and in 1975, launched the Turma do Lambe-Lambe. Capitão Cipó was a parody on the sexual revolution and is visually a bit similar to Guy Peellaerts famous Jodelle and Pravda pop art graphic novels.
