Turkvision Song Contest 2014
The Turkvision Song Contest 2014 ( tr, Türkvizyon Şarkı Yarışması 2014) was the second edition of the Turkvision Song Contest, which took place in Kazan in the region of Tatarstan. Twenty-four Turkic regions, which have either a large Turkic population or a widely spoken Turkic language, confirmed their participation, making it the largest contest exceeding the participation number for the whereas four European countries (, , and ) made their debut. , , , , and withdrew from the contest. The semi final took place on 19 November 2014 and the final took place on 21 November 2014. The presenters of the contest were Artem Shalimov, Narmin Agaeva, and Ranil Nuriov. TatNeft Arena ( ru: Татнефть-Арена) is an indoor sporting arena located in Kazan, Russia. The capacity of the arena is 10,000 and was opened in 2005. The arena is home to Ak Bars Kazan of the Kontinental Hockey League. Tatneft Cup Every year since the 2008 kickboxing tournament called Tatneft Cup is held in the arena. Tournament consists of three tournaments in three weight categories (-70 kg, -80 kg, +80 kg) with 4 selections of 1/8 finals, 2 selections of quarter-finals, semi-finals and final tournament. The tournament is according to the K-1 rules, in 3x3 format with the exception of the fight going to an automatic 4th extension round if there is no knockdown during the first three rounds. The Kontinental Hockey League (KHL; russian: Континентальная хоккейная лига (КХЛ), Kontinental'naya khokkeynaya liga) is an international professional ice hockey league founded in 2008. Gagauz (, ) is a Turkic language spoken by the Gagauz people of Moldova, Ukraine, Russia and Turkey and it is an official language of the Autonomous Region of Gagauzia in Moldova. Zhanar Dugalova
Zhanar Dugalova ( kk, Жанар Дұғалова, ''Janar Dūğalova''; born 17 January 1987) is a Kazakh singer, who won the Turkvision Song Contest 2014 representing Kazakhstan with the song " Izin kórem". She is also a former member of Kazakhstani pop group KeshYou. Since August 2014 she has continued her career independently. Biography Dugalova was born in Kyzylorda, southern Kazakhstan, before moving with her family to Almaty. Years before her debut in the music industry, she took part in the contest ''Zhas Kanat'', a national music festival which aimed to launch the careers of amateur and new singers. After her performance in the festival, well-known producer Bayan Esentayeva became interested in her voice. She was hailed for her powerful voice and her beauty.
