Turkovich
Michael Turkovich (born November 27, 1986) is a former American football offensive tackle. He was signed by the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent in 2009. He played college football at Notre Dame. Professional career Dallas Cowboys After going undrafted in the 2009 NFL Draft, Turkovich was signed by the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent. He was waived/injured after suffering a knee injury during training camp on August 3 and subsequently reverted to injured reserve. He was released with an injury settlement on August 7. New York Jets Turkovich signed a future contract with the New York Jets on February 23, 2010. Turkovich would be waived by the New York on September 4, 2010. Injured Reserve
The injured reserve list ( IR list) is a designation used in North American professional sports leagues for athletes who suffer injuries and become unable to play. The exact name of the list varies by league; it is known as "injured reserve" in the National Football League (NFL) and National Hockey League (NHL), the "injured list" in the Canadian Football League (CFL), and the injured list (historically known as the "disabled list") in Major League Baseball (MLB). The National Basketball Association (NBA) does not have a direct analog to an injured reserve list, instead using a more general-purpose "inactive list" that does not require a player to be injured. Injured reserve lists are used because the rules of these leagues allow for only a certain numbers of players on each team's roster. The Arena Football League (AFL) was a professional arena football league in the United States. It was founded in 1986, but played its first official games in the 1987 season, making it the third longest-running professional football league in North America after the Canadian Football League (CFL) and the National Football League (NFL) until the AFL closed in 2019. 2009 NFL Draft
The 2009 NFL Draft was the seventy-fourth annual meeting of National Football League (NFL) franchises to select newly eligible football players. The draft took place at Radio City Music Hall in New York City, New York, on April 25 and 26, 2009. The draft consisted of two rounds on the first day, starting at 4:00 pm EDT, and five rounds on the second day, starting at 10:00 am EDT. To compensate for the time change from the previous year and in an effort to help shorten the draft, teams were no longer on the clock for 15 minutes in the first round and 10 minutes in the second round.
