Turkey–Venezuela Relations
Diplomatic relations between Turkey and Venezuela were established in 1950. They have had cordial relations since, especially since 2016. Turkey backed Nicolás Maduro as the president of Venezuela instead of his political opponent Juan Guaidó during the Venezuelan presidential crisis. History Due to the geographical distance and the fact that the two countries focused more on their own geography, relations stayed limited until 2016 and onwards. Following the death of Hugo Chávez in March 2013, Turkish Deputy PM Beşir Atalay attended the funeral and said that the death of the late Venezuelan President shook across Latin America. Caracas
Caracas ( , ), officially Santiago de León de Caracas (CCS), is the capital and largest city of Venezuela, and the center of the Metropolitan Region of Caracas (or Greater Caracas). Caracas is located along the Guaire River in the northern part of the country, within the Caracas Valley of the Venezuelan coastal mountain range (Cordillera de la Costa). The World Energy Council is a global forum for thought-leadership and tangible engagement with headquarters in London. Its mission is 'To promote the sustainable supply and use of energy for the greatest benefit of all people'. The idea for the foundation of the Council came from Daniel Nicol Dunlop in the 1920s. He wanted to gather experts from all around the world to discuss current and future energy issues. İhsan Sabri Çağlayangil (1 January 1908, Istanbul – 30 December 1993, Ankara, Turkey) was a Turkish politician and diplomat who served as Acting President of Turkey in 1980, from the Justice Party (). He also served as Minister of Foreign Affairs three times in the 1960s and 1970s. Background and personal life Çağlayangil was born in Istanbul in 1908 as the son of a man named M. Sabri. He graduated from Saint-Joseph High School. Then he entered the School of Law at Istanbul University and graduated in 1932. He was married to Firuzende Çağlayangil starting in 1953 and had a daughter named Fatma Itir Çağlayangil. Career After completing his studies he became a civil servant and was in charge of the arrangements for the trial and the hanging of Seyit Riza and several Kurdish leaders of the Dersim Rebellion. Taha Carım
Taha Carım (1914-1977) was a Turkish diplomat who held several high-ranking posts in Turkish foreign service and was assassinated by Armenian gunmen from Justice Commandos of the Armenian Genocide. Biography Carım was born in 1914 in Geneva in a family of a diplomat. After completion of his studies at Galatasaray High School, he went on to study in France, eventually graduating from University of Toulouse. During the World War II on 29 October 1941, Carım joined the foreign service and would continue working at the ministry for 36 years until his death. He started his service at the General Secretariat Department and was soon sent to Trade Department where he rose to the rank of 3rd secretary. In 1948, Carım was sent to work at the Turkish Consulate in Athens.
