Turk Pettit
Turk Pettit (born November 16, 1998) is an American professional golfer who plays on the Asian Tour. He won the 2021 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship. Pettit picked up his first professional win at the 2021 Birck Boilermaker Classic on the Forme Tour. Early life and amateur career Pettit played collegiate golf at Clemson University. Pettit won the 2021 NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship at the Grayhawk Golf Club in Scottsdale, Arizona. In 2021, Pettit was also named a first-team All-American by the Collegiate Golf Coaches Association. Professional career On his third start on the Forme Tour, Pettit won the 2021 Birck Boilermaker Classic. In 2022, Petit joined LIV Golf, and later resigned his membership of the PGA Tour. Following the start of the first LIV Golf Invitational Series event, the PGA Tour announced that all current and former members who participated in LIV events would be indefinitely suspended from all tours operated by the tour. LIV Golf () is a professional golf tour financed by the Public Investment Fund, the sovereign wealth fund of Saudi Arabia. 2021 Forme Tour
The Forme Tour was a men's professional golf tour played in the United States. The tour was created by the PGA Tour in 2021 in response to COVID-19 pandemic related restrictions on travel between the United States and Canada, in order to provide competition for non-Canadian PGA Tour Canada members, with entry also available through a series seven of Q-School events. Eight tournaments were initially announced, to be held between June and September. The tournaments offered Official World Golf Ranking points, and the top five players on the points list at the end of the season gained Korn Ferry Tour membership for the 2022 season. NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship
The NCAA Division I Men's Golf Championship, played in late May or early June, is the top annual competition in U.S. men's collegiate golf. The teams that win their respective Division I conference championships are given automatic spots in the regionals. A selection committee decides which other teams play in the regionals. The top teams in each regional advance to the championship. In addition, the best player in each tournament from teams not qualified also advance to the next round as individual competitors. It is a stroke play team competition; starting in 2009, the competition changed to a stroke play/match play competition with the top eight teams after 54 holes of stroke play being seeded and concluding with an eight-team match play playoff.
