Baden District is a district in the canton of Aargau, Switzerland. The district capital is the town of Baden and the largest municipality is Wettingen, located in the Limmat Valley (German: ''Limmattal''). Gebenstorf
Gebenstorf is a municipality in the district of Baden in the canton of Aargau in Switzerland. History Gebenstorf is first mentioned in 1247 as ''Gobistorf''. From 1415 until 1798 it was a township in the county of Baden. The historical borders have been retained in the modern municipality. Geography Gebenstorf has an area, , of . Of this area, 29% is used for agricultural purposes, while 41.6% is forested. Of the rest of the land, 24.4% is settled (buildings or roads) and the remainder (5%) is non-productive (rivers or lakes). The municipality is located in the Baden district, at the confluence of the Reuss and Limmat rivers into the Aare river. It consists of the villages of Gebenstorf and Vogelsang and the hamlets of Reuss, Petersberg and Schwabenberg. In 1884, the village of Wil and the factory center of Turgi separated from Gebenstorf to form an independent municipality. S12 (ZVV)
The S12 is a regional railway line of the S-Bahn Zürich on the Zürcher Verkehrsverbund (ZVV), Zürich transportation network. The S12 is one of the network's lines connecting the cantons of Zürich, Aargau, Schaffhausen, Thurgau and St. Gallen. Route * Line S12 commences at Brugg station, in the canton of Aargau, and follows the Zürich–Baden railway as far as Zürich Hardbrücke station and the approaches to Zürich Hauptbahnhof station. Passing through the lower level platforms at this station, the line then passes through the Hirschengraben and Zürichberg tunnels, and Stettbach station, before joining the Zürich to Winterthur line. The S12 follows this line as far as Winterthur Hauptbahnhof station, running non-stop between Stettbach and Winterthur, from where it continues to either Schaffhausen, or Wil SG. The Wakker Prize (German: ''Wakkerpreis'', French: ''Prix Wakker'', Italian: ''Premio Wakker'') is awarded annually by the Swiss Heritage Society to a Municipality of Switzerland for the development and preservation of its architectural heritage. At the beginning, the prize honoured municipalities which did special needs for preservation of the old towns. Recently, the prize also honours municipalities that develop their townscapes on a specific leading point.
