Tunku Tan Sri Abdullah
Tan Sri Tunku Abdullah ibni Almarhum Tuanku Abdul Rahman (2 May 1925 – 20 August 2008) was a notable Malaysian businessman and a founder of the Melewar Group of companies. Early life Tunku Abdullah was born on 2 May 1925 at Kuala Pilah, Negeri Sembilan. His father was Tuanku Abdul Rahman (1895-1960), the Ruler of Negeri Sembilan state (1933-1960) and later appointed at the first King of Malaya (1957-1960). His mother was ''Che Engku'' Maimuna ''née'' Dulcibella (Dulcie) Campbell, a nurse at the Government Hospital in Kuala Lumpur. Tunku Abdullah was appointed to the state royal-rank of ''Tunku Panglima Besar'' in 1963. He was fondly known as "Charlie", as he was a fan of pianist Charlie Kunz. The Malay language has a complex system of Style (manner of address), styles, titles and honorifics which are used extensively in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and the southern Philippines. Muhammad Fuad Stephens, (born Donald Aloysius Marmaduke Stephens; 14 September 1920 – 6 June 1976) was a Malaysian politician who served as the 1st and 5th Chief Minister of Sabah from September 1963 to December 1964 and again briefly from April 1976 to his death in June 1976, 3rd Yang di-Pertua Negara of Sabah from September 1973 to July 1975, 6th High Commissioner of Malaysia to Australia from 1968 to 1973. Abdul Mubin Sheppard , born Mervyn Cecil ffrank Sheppard, pen name M. C. '' ff'' Sheppard, (21 June 1905 – 11 September 1994) was a Malaysian World War II veteran and prisoner of war, as well as a renowned historian and academician. Life Early life Mervyn Sheppard was born in Ireland on June 21, 1905. He received his early education at Marlborough College before continuing on to Cambridge University. Charlie Kunz
Charles Leonard Kunz (August 18, 1896 – March 16, 1958) was an American-born British musician popular during the British dance band era, and who became a pianist. Life and career Kunz was born in Allentown, Pennsylvania, United States, the only son of Margaret T. (Wehr) and Leonard Kunz, a master baker who played the French horn. He made his debut aged six and made his first appearance as a prodigy aged seven. During World War I he led his own resident band, while working in a munitions factory. He came to the United Kingdom in 1922 as a pianist in a small dance band. He was to remain there until his death from a heart attack in 1958. He is buried in Streatham Vale Cemetery.
