The Tunisia national ice hockey team ( ar, منتخب تونس لهوكي الجليد, french: Équipe de Tunisie de hockey sur glace) is the national men's ice hockey team of Tunisia. The team is controlled by the Tunisian Ice Hockey Association and has been an associate member of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) since 22 September 2021. Tunisia is currently not ranked in the IIHF World Ranking and has not entered in any IIHF World Championship events. History The Tunisian Ice Hockey Association was founded in 2009. The Moroccan national ice hockey team ( ar, منتخب المغرب لهوكي الجليد; french: Équipe du Maroc de hockey sur glace) is the men's national ice hockey team of Morocco. The team is controlled by the Royal Moroccan Ice Hockey Federation and has been an associate member of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). The team's home rink is in the Moroccan capital, Rabat. History In June 2008, Morocco took part in the inaugural Arab Cup in Abu Dhabi, also involving the national teams of Algeria, the UAE and Kuwait. The Algerian national ice hockey team ( ar, منتخب الجزائر لهوكي الجليد) is the national men's ice hockey team of Algeria. History Formed in 2008, Algeria became a member of the IIHF on September 26, 2019. The national team was formed with the increasing number of Algerians who are playing ice hockey around the world. Ice Hockey In Africa
There are a number of indoor ice rinks in African countries that are used for ice hockey. Enthusiasts have formed national teams in several countries and an inaugural African Nations Cup of Ice Hockey was planned for 2009. The first African Nations Cup of Ice Hockey was planned for South Africa between 19–26 September 2009. The matches of the championship were to be played at the ice rink of "Festival Shopping Centre" in Kempton Park. The competing countries were to be South Africa, Morocco and Algeria. However, the tournament was postponed due to lack of response from the invited countries and never played. In 2014, the Egyptian players of Anubis Ice Hockey Team, Egypt's first ice hockey team started to initiate with the Royal Moroccan Ice Hockey Federation the first African Cup. 2023 Men's Ice Hockey World Championships
The 2023 Men's Ice Hockey World Championships were the 86th such event hosted by the International Ice Hockey Federation. Teams participated in several levels of competition. The competition also served as qualifications for division placements in the 2024 competition. The 2022 Men's Ice Hockey World Championships was the 85th such event hosted by the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF). Teams were participating in several levels of competition. The competition also served as qualifications for division placements in the 2023 competition. After all events, outside of the top division, were cancelled in 2021, the teams were set to stay put in their respective divisions. 2021 IIHF World Championship
The 2021 IIHF World Championship () took place from 21 May to 6 June 2021. It was originally to be co-hosted by Minsk, Belarus and Riga, Latvia, as the IIHF announced on 19 May 2017 in Cologne, Germany. 1930 Ice Hockey World Championships
The 1930 Ice Hockey World Championships were held between January 30 and February 10, 1930, in Chamonix, France, Vienna, Austria, and Berlin, Germany. This event was the first world championships independent of hockey at the Olympics. Canada, represented by the Toronto CCMs, beat the German team in the gold medal match by a score of 6 to 1 to win the title.
