Folk music is a music genre that includes traditional folk music and the contemporary genre that evolved from the former during the 20th-century folk revival. Some types of folk music may be called world music. Traditional folk music has been defined in several ways: as music transmitted orally, music with unknown composers, music that is played on traditional instruments, music about cultural or national identity, music that changes between generations (folk process), music associated with a people's folklore, or music performed by custom over a long period of time. The Tune
''The Tune'' is a 1992 independent animated musical-comedy film directed by Bill Plympton. Plot summary Del, a hard-working songwriter, is trying to write the perfect song for his slimeball boss, Mr. Mega, so he can keep his job and his girlfriend, Didi. As he rushes to work, he gets lost in a cloverleaf highway and ends up lost in a town called Flooby Nooby, where he meets the town's singing and swingin' mayor, an Elvis-impersonating dog, a noseless cab driver, and a psychotic bellhop as he tries to get to Mr. Mega's office to deliver the song. Production ''The Tune'', was Bill Plympton's first feature-length film and incorporates earlier shorts released by Plympton, including ''The Wiseman'' (1991), ''Dig My Do'' (1990), and ''Tango Schmango'' (1990). It was self-funded and took two years to make. Its music was composed by Maureen McElheron, a longtime friend of Plympton's who has composed the music for most of his films. Tune.pk (stylised as Tune Pakistan, tune.pk or TPK) was a video-sharing website based in Pakistan on which users can upload, watch and share videos. The site requires registration to upload and rate videos but unregistered users can also watch, share and comment. It offers local and regional content of Pakistan and is available worldwide. Its website uses ClipBucket, a video-sharing script along with HTML5 and Adobe Flash to play user generated video content. Tune, Norway
Tune is a former municipality in Østfold county, Norway. The former municipality originally covered the current Sarpsborg municipality with the exception of Skjeberg and with the addition of Rolvsøy. History The parish of Tune was established as a municipality January 1, 1838 (see formannskapsdistrikt). The city of Sarpsborg was grounded and separated from Tune to constitute a separate administrative unit in 1839. The rural district of Varteig was separated from Tune in 1861, and the same thing happened with Rolvsøy on 1 January 1911, leaving Tune with a population of 8,040. Despite the separations Tune witnessed steady growth over the years. Starting in 1884, a series of border adjustments which moved territory from Tune to Sarpsborg took place. Following the moving of an uninhabited part of Tune to Sarpsborg in 1884, parts with 696, 1,008, 66 and 10 inhabitants were moved to Sarpsborg in 1912, 1925, 1957 and 1980 respectively. Thomas James Tune (born February 28, 1939) is an American actor, dancer, singer, theatre director, producer, and choreographer. Over the course of his career, he has won ten Tony Awards, the National Medal of Arts, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Early life Tune was born in Wichita Falls, Texas, to oil rig worker, horse trainer, and restaurateur Jim Tune and Eva Mae Clark along with his sister, Gracey. He attended Mirabeau B. Lamar High School, Houston and the Methodist-affiliated Lon Morris College in Jacksonville, Texas. He studied dance under Patsy Swayze in Houston. He also studied dance with Kit Andree in Boulder, Colorado.
