Tuna (dog)
Tuna is a Chihuahua–Dachshund crossbreed dog, best known as an internet celebrity, and an internet meme. He was abandoned by his original owner near San Diego, and was adopted at a farmer's market in Los Angeles by Courtney Dasher. After she created an Instagram page for him, a photo of him was featured on the company's website resulting in an increase in followers. Dasher has used Tuna's celebrity status to raise money for animal rescue groups and to promote animal welfare generally. A book of photographs of Tuna was released in 2015, entitled ''Tuna Melts My Heart: The Underdog With The Overbite''. The Chihuahua or es, Chihuahueño, italic=no is a Mexican breed of toy dog. It is named for the Mexican state of Chihuahua and is among the smallest of all dog breeds. Izzy the Frenchie is a French bulldog, known as an internet celebrity. Izzy was born in northern California and moved with her owner Shane Jordan to the Hamptons in New York. Manny the Frenchie (February 7, 2011 – July 2023) was an American French Bulldog from Chicago, Illinois, that achieved Internet celebrity via the posting of his photographs on various social media websites. In 2013 he was the world's most followed and popular Bulldog on the Internet. Between his channels and the Manny and Friends channels, they reach over 4 million followers worldwide. Manny was owned by Amber Chavez and Jon Huang and was named after the Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao. His social media presence, as of December 2014, Manny has more than 20,000 followers on Twitter, more than 1.4 million "likes" on Facebook and more than 900,000 followers on Instagram. He has been used as a canine model for consumer Martha Stewart's PetSmart line and has been featured on Steve Harvey's television talk show. Boo (March 16, 2006 – January 18, 2019) was a Pomeranian dog that had a popular Facebook page and was the subject of four photo-books. As of 2020, Boo had 16 million likes on Facebook. Boo was owned by Irene Ahn, a Facebook employee, who was also the owner of Boo's older brother, Buddy. Popularity Boo belonged to a San Francisco-based Facebook employee who created a Facebook page for the dog with the statement "My name is Boo. I am a dog. Life is good."
