Tumen River Bridge
The Tumen River Bridge () is a bridge over the Tumen River, connecting Hunchun City, Jilin Province, China, with Sonbong County, Rason, North Korea. It was built in 1938 by the Japanese Empire and is long and wide. It is located at Quanhedao where the Quan River meets the Tumen River. In February 1997, tourist access across the bridge was allowed. A new bridge over the Tumen River is currently in the planning stage. Hunchun Quanhe Tumen River Bridge
Hunchun (; Chosŏn'gŭl: 혼춘; Hangul: 훈춘) is a county-level city in the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, far eastern Jilin province. It borders North Korea (North Hamgyong province) and Russia (Primorsky Krai), has over 250,000 inhabitants, and covers 5,145 square kilometers. The site of the eastern capital of Balhae/Bohai Kingdom between 785 and 793, Donggyeong, was located here. The city's name Hunchun comes from ''Huncun'' in Manchu language. (). The city and the village Fangchuan is located near the point of junction of the borders of China, Russia, and North Korea; provided with an observation platform, it is a popular tourist attraction. Ji'an Yalu River Border Railway Bridge
The Ji'an Yalu River Border Railway Bridge () is a single-track railway bridge that spans the Yalu River and connects the outskirts of the Chinese town of Ji'an in Jilin Province with the North Korean town of Manp'o in Chagang Province. The bridge is 589.23 meters long and its height is 16 meters. It was constructed between 1937 and July 31, 1939 by Imperial Japan which during this time controlled both Korea and northeast China (through the puppet state of Manchukuo). A fortification near the Chinese end of the bridge dates from the same period. A square arch was added to the Chinese end of the bridge in 2004. The bridge was used for shipping troops from China into Korea during the Korean War and was targeted by US aerial bombing; however, it was not destroyed. From the Chinese side, the bridge is accessible for tourists who can walk up to a line close to the actual border.
