Tulsi Lahiri
Tulsi Lahiri (7 April 1897 – 22 June 1959) was a Bengali actor, director and play writer. Early life Lahiri was born in 1897 in a zamindar family of Naldanga village, Rangpur of British India. He passed B.A and B.L and started his lawyer career in Rangpur court. While he came to Alipore Kolkata, Ustad Jamiruddin Khan recorded two of his songs and inspired Lahiri joined in His Master's Voice company as music director. Career Lahiri acted on stage and in number of films as actor, vocalist and instrumentalist. He performed initially in silent films then worked in more than 50 movies. He became popular after releasing his play ''Duhkhir Iman'' and ''Chhenra Taar'' which were successfully run in Bengal. He made an orchestra which was often used in stage dances. In 1933 he directed two films namely ''Jamuna Puliney'' and ''Radha Krishna''. Rangpur District
Rangpur ( bn, রংপুর) is a district in Northern Bangladesh. It is a part of the Rangpur Division. Geography Under the Rangpur Division (one of eight divisions) composed of eight districts of northern Bangladesh, the District of Rangpur is bordered on the north by Nilphamari District, on the south by Gaibandha District, on the east by Kurigram, and on the west by Dinajpur district. Rangpur town is the divisional headquarter. The soil composition is mainly alluvial soil (80%) of the Teesta River basin, and the remaining is barind soil. ''Parash Pathar'' ( bn, পরশ পাথর ''Porosh Pathor''; English: ''The Philosopher's Stone''; French: ''La Pierre Philosophale'') is a 1958 Bengali language Indian fantasy comedy film. It was Satyajit Ray's first film outside of ''The Apu Trilogy''. It was also his first comedy and first magical realist film. Adapted from a short story of the same name by Parasuram ( Rajsekhar Basu), the film offered an early glimpse of Ray's sense of humour, centered on a middle-class clerk who accidentally discovers a stone that can turn other objects into gold. Plot Paresh Chandra Dutt (Tulsi Chakrabarti), a middle-class bank clerk in Kolkata, attends a charity match on a rainy day rather reluctantly.
