Alexander Bruce Tulloch
Major General Sir Alexander Bruce Tulloch, (2 September 1838 – 26 May 1920) was a British Army officer who served as military commandant for the Colony of Victoria, a war correspondent and an author. Career Tulloch was born in Edinburgh, the son of Lieutenant-Colonel Tulloch. He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, and entered the army as ensign in the 1st Foot, in May 1855. He became lieutenant of that regiment in 1857; captain 96th Regiment of Foot in 1864; captain 69th (South Lincolnshire) Regiment of Foot in 1866; brevet major in 1877; major Welsh Regiment in 1881; brevet lieutenant colonel in 1882; lieutenant colonel Welsh Regiment in 1883; colonel in the army in 1886, and was placed on half-pay in 1888. Albert Tulloch (23 February 1889 – 15 February 1953) was an English professional Association football, footballer. He played as a defender (association football), full-back, and spent his entire ten-year professional career at Blackpool F.C., Blackpool. Tulloch made his debut for Blackpool on 24 October 1914, in a 2–1 defeat by Leicester City F.C., Leicester Fosse at Bloomfield Road. He went on to make a further 24 appearances in the 1914–15 Blackpool F.C. season, 1914–15 season, displacing Jimmy Jones (English footballer), Jimmy Jones. Francis Anthony Tulloch (5 August 1940 – 23 June 2022) was a Jamaican politician, lawyer and diplomat who served as Minister of Tourism from 1997 to 1999. Early life and education Tulloch was born to father Samuel Vincent Tulloch and mother Rhea Henriques-Tulloch in Kingston, Jamaica on 5 August 1940. He was educated at St. George's College. Career Legal career Tulloch was admitted to Lincoln's Inn on 23 September 1959. He was called to the bar on 5 February 1963. On his return to Jamaica, he practised as a barrister. From 1964 to 1969 he practiced law in Nassau, Bahamas serving as Legal Professional Assistant to Sir Lynden Pindling, future Prime Minister of The Bahamas. Ian "Inky" Tulloch (born 21 September 1950) is a New Zealand racing-driver and a former politician in both local and national politics. He is most famous for his career in racing saloon cars as well as for being the last Mayor of Mataura before it became part of the Gore District Council. Prof William John Tulloch MD FRSE (1887–1966) was a 20th-century Scottish bacteriologist and medical author. He was an expert on tetanus. Life He was born in Dundee on 12 November 1887 the youngest of five children of Henry Tulloch. His father and uncle were hatters, with two shops, H & W Tulloch in Dundee. They lived at 14 Albany Terrace in Dundee. His mother, Coralie von Wassenhove, was from Waerschoot in Belgium. He studied medicine at St Andrews University and graduated MB ChB in 1909. In 1914 he became the first lecturer in Bacteriology at University College, Dundee. In the First World War he served as a lecturer at the Royal Army Medical College and on the War Office Committee on Tetanus. He rose to be Dean of Medicine.
