Franco Brusati (4 August 1922 in Milan – 28 February 1993 in Rome) was an Italian screenwriter and Film director, director. Biography He directed the internationally commended film hit ''Bread and Chocolate'', one of the finest examples of Commedia all'italiana films in the 1970s. In 1979, his film ''To Forget Venice'' was nominated for an Academy Award for Best International Feature Film at the 52nd Academy Awards. In Italy, the film was awarded the David di Donatello for Best Film. In 1983, Brusati was a member of the jury at the 33rd Berlin International Film Festival. Gianni Garko (born Giovanni Garcovich; 15 July 1935), often billed as John Garko and occasionally Gary Hudson, is an Italian actor who found fame as a leading man in 1960s Spaghetti Westerns. He is perhaps best known for his lead role as Sartana, starting with the first official film ''If You Meet Sartana Pray for Your Death'' and starring in three sequels as this character, the role played by George Hilton in the third film in the series. Early life and career Garko was born in Zara, he moved from Zara to Trieste, and later Rome to attend University and Drama School. His first prominent film role was a small but important part in the Oscar nominated Kapò (1959). Frank Grimes (born 1947) is an Irish stage and screen actor. Grimes was born in Dublin. He achieved his first major success as the young Brendan Behan in the 1967 stage adaptation of Behan's autobiography, ''Borstal Boy'', at the Abbey Theatre. When the production moved to Broadway, Grimes was nominated for a Tony Award for best actor. In 1970 the Italian director, Franco Zeffirelli, offered Grimes the lead role of Francis of Assisi in his biopic, ''Brother Sun, Sister Moon''. Turi Vasile (22 March 1922 - 1 September 2009) was an Italian producer, director, playwright, screenwriter, film critic and author. Life and career Born in Messina, Sicily, Vasile started working as a playwright and a theatre director in the early 1940s. The 23rd Cannes Film Festival ran from 3 to 18 May 1970. This year, Robert Favre LeBret, the founder of the festival, decided not to include any films from Russia and Japan (their flags were missing on the Croisette). He was tired of the "Slavic spectacles and Japanese samurai flicks.".
