The 2016 census recorded a population of 12 for the state suburb of Tulendeena. History Tulendeena was gazetted as a locality in 1967. The name is believed to be an Aboriginal word for “top”. Scottsdale, formerly known as Ellesmere, is a town in the north-east of Tasmania, Australia. It lies on the Tasman Highway, around north-east of Launceston and south-east of the coastal town of Bridport. It is part of the Dorset Council. Legerwood is a rural locality and town in the local government area of Dorset in the North-east region of Tasmania. It is located about south-east of the town of Scottsdale. The 2021 census determined a population of 204 for the state suburb of Legerwood. History The greater Legerwood area was inhabited by the indigenous North East nation for over 10,000 years prior to the British colonisation of Tasmania. Legerwood was the name given to a property selected in the area in 1855 by settler James Scott and his nephew James Reid Scott. It was named for Legerwood, in the Scottish Borders council area of Scotland, after James Scott's ancestral homeland. 2016 Australian Census
The 2016 Australian census was the 17th national population census held in Australia. The census was officially conducted with effect on Tuesday, 9 August 2016. The total population of the Commonwealth of Australia was counted as – an increase of 8.8 per cent or people over the .
