''Tubular Bells II, The Performance Live at Edinburgh Castle'' is a live concert video by Mike Oldfield released in 1992. Background The video is a full faithful performance from the premiere concert of the ''Tubular Bells II'' album at Edinburgh Castle. The tour continued until the following October. John Gordon Sinclair performed the part of the Master of Ceremonies at the concert; on the album Alan Rickman was the Master of Ceremonies. The concert finishes with a reprise of "The Bell". Eight thousand people were at the concert in Edinburgh, Scotland. It was released on VHS and Laserdisc in 1992, and later packaged with ''Tubular Bells III Live'' on DVD. "Sentinel" is a single by musician Mike Oldfield, released in 1992. The single features a restructured, shorter version of "Sentinel", from the album ''Tubular Bells II''. The piece itself is a re-imagining of the introduction theme from Oldfield's 1973 album ''Tubular Bells'' which was known for its use in ''The Exorcist'' film. A concert film, or concert movie, is a film that showcases a live performance from the perspective of a concert goer, the subject of which is an extended live performance or concert by either a musician or a stand-up comedian. Susannah Melvoin
Susannah Melvoin (born January 26, 1964) is an American vocalist and songwriter. Melvoin is best known for her association with Prince in the mid-1980s. Melvoin comes from a musical family and is the twin sister of musician Wendy Melvoin, sister of Jonathan Melvoin (former touring keyboardist with the Smashing Pumpkins), and daughter of jazz pianist (and former NARAS president) Michael Melvoin. Work with Prince Melvoin got her start working with Prince in the mid-1980s during sister Wendy's stint with The Revolution. During this period, Melvoin was tapped to be a joint lead vocalist of one of Prince's side projects: The Family. Prince wrote The Family's 1985 song "Nothing Compares 2 U" about Melvoin. Laurence Cottle (born 16 December 1961) is a Welsh bass guitarist and composer. Career His solo recordings have been mostly in jazz and jazz fusion. He was a member of the fusion quartet The Fents and appeared on their second album, ''The Other Side'', released on the Passport Jazz label in 1987. He played with The Alan Parsons Project on '' Gaudi'', their final album for Arista, and on ''Freudiana'', Parsons's final collaboration with Eric Woolfson. He is the brother of Richard Cottle (also a musician), playing with him during his time with The Alan Parsons Project. Shortly after, he was hired by British heavy metal band Black Sabbath to play bass on the studio sessions that would become their 1989 album '' Headless Cross''. Jay Stapley
Jay Stapley (born 13 April 1957) is a British musician. Career Stapley started his musical career playing with local bands in Kent and Sussex in the UK. In 1978 he became involved in the London music scene and became a session player and gigging guitarist. He worked alongside various artists and producers on international tours with Roger Waters and Mike Oldfield, the film Withnail and I, and on the albums of Suede, Toyah and Scott Walker. In 1983 while performing live work with Julian Dawson in Germany, he met producer René Tinner and began working in Tinner's Cologne studio to record guitar tracks for various projects. Stapley also recorded and toured with Westernhagen, and became his co-producer and musical director. During the 1990s Stapley recorded four instrumental CDs for WEA. David Bedford
David Vickerman Bedford (4 August 1937 – 1 October 2011) was an English composer and musician. He wrote and played both popular and classical music. He was the brother of the conductor Steuart Bedford, the grandson of the composer, painter and author Herbert Bedford and the composer Liza Lehmann, and the son of Leslie Bedford, an inventor, and Lesley Duff, a soprano opera singer. From 1969 to 1981, Bedford was Composer in Residence at Queen's College, London. From 1968 to 1980, he taught music in a number of London secondary schools.
