Tubelord were an English alternative rock band, formed in 2006 in Kingston upon Thames, Surrey. In 2009, the band signed a record deal with independent label Hassle Records and on 12 October 2009 they released their debut album ''Our First American Friends''. The band split up in 2012. History The band formed in 2005 while attending Kingston College by Joseph Prendergast, David Catmur and Olev Saunders. Over the next three years Tubelord would release several EP and singles as well as touring heavily around the UK and Europe with bands such as This Town Needs Guns and Tellison. After relentless touring Olev Saunders left the band and was replaced by Sean Bamberger. In late 2009, Tubelord released their debut album ''Our First American Friends'', which was met with critical praise from Rock Sound, DIY, and the BBC. ''Romance'' is the second and final studio album by the British alternative rock band Tubelord. It was released on the October 10, 2011 on the independent UK label Pink Mist. The album was the follow up to their 2009 album, Our First American Friends and 2010 EP, Tezcatlipōca. It is their first full-length album with bassist Tom Coulson-Smith and synth/keys James Elliot Field. The album has been released on compact disc, digital download and vinyl. The song "4t3", which was released on July 13, 2011, has been quoted by Prendergast to be named after an occurrence with a taxi driver who they had got a lift with and started conversing about the number of people they have had sex with, which then the taxi driver responded with "43 people". Tellison is an English four-piece indie rock band from London, England, formed in 2000. The band consists of lead vocalist and guitarist Stephen Davidson, guitarist and vocalist Peter Phillips, bass guitarist and vocalist Andrew Tickell and drummer Henry Danowski. Tall Ships were an English indie rock band, formed in 2009 whilst studying in Falmouth and based in Brighton, England. The band was composed of lead singer/guitarist Ric Phethean, bassist/backing vocalist Matt Parker, drummer Jamie Bush and keyboardist James Elliot Field. The band released two EPs and their debut album ''Everything Touching'' via Big Scary Monster Records before disappearing for three years. They released their second album ''Impressions'' in February 2017. The band announced their disbandment in September 2017 and performed three farewell shows across England in the following December. Michael Azerrad is an American author, music journalist, editor, and musician. A graduate of Columbia University, he has written for publications such as '' Spin'', ''Rolling Stone'', and ''The New York Times''. Azerrad's 1993 biography '' Come as You Are: The Story of Nirvana'' was named by '' Q'' as one of the 50 greatest rock books ever written. Steve Albini (pronounced ; born July 22, 1962) is an American musician, record producer, audio engineer and music journalist. He was a member of Big Black, Rapeman and Flour, and is a member of Shellac. He is the founder, owner and principal engineer of Electrical Audio, a recording studio complex in Chicago.
