Tsuyoshi Fukui
is a retired tour and Japan Davis Cup team tennis player. Fukui holds the record for the most singles win for the Japanese in Davis Cup, with 26. On tour, he won two Challenger tennis events in singles and earned a career-high singles ranking of World No. 177, in January 1983. Circuit career Fukui won the 1983 Tokyo Challenger and 1985 Nagoya Challenger. His best results in a Grand Prix tennis event was reaching the third round of the 1980 Tokyo Outdoor (now the Rakuten Japan Open Tennis Championships). The only Grand Prix events he ever played in the main draw of were the Tokyo Outdoor, Tokyo Indoor, and once in each the Taipei Grand Prix and Hong Kong Grand Prix. Moji-ku, Kitakyūshū
is a Japanese ward of the city of Kitakyushu in Fukuoka Prefecture. It is the former city of Moji which was one of five merged to create Kitakyūshū in 1963. It faces the city of Shimonoseki across the Kanmon Straits between Honshū and Kyūshū. The ward's area is 73.37 km². It had a population of 114,754 as of 2000. Mark Wooldridge
Mark Wooldridge (born July 7, 1962) is a former professional tennis player from the United States. Biography Wooldridge, the son of a physicist, comes from Santa Barbara in California. He went to the University of California at Berkeley and played No. 2 singles, before joining the tour full-time in 1983 and playing professionally for four years. He won the men's singles in the Ojai Tennis Tournament in 1984. At the 1985 US Open he competed in the main draw of the men's doubles with Egan Adams, who he also partnered with to win a Challenger tournament that year in Lagos. He made his only Grand Slam singles appearance at the 1985 Australian Open and was beaten in the first round by local player Brad Drewett. The 1981 Seiko World Super Tennis also known as the Tokyo Indoor was a men's tennis tournament played on indoor carpet courts at the Yoyogi National Stadium in Tokyo, Japan that was part of the Super Series of the 1981 Volvo Grand Prix circuit. The tournament was held from 26 October through 30 October 1981. Matches were the best of three sets. Unseeded Vincent Van Patten won the singles titles. John McEnroe
John Patrick McEnroe Jr. (born February 16, 1959) is an American former professional tennis player. He was known for his shot-making and volleying skills, his rivalries with Björn Borg and Jimmy Connors, and his confrontational on-court behavior, which frequently landed him in trouble with umpires and tennis authorities. McEnroe is the only male player in tennis history to hold the world No. 1 ranking in both singles and doubles simultaneously. Eliot Teltscher (born March 15, 1959) is a retired professional American tennis player. He won the 1983 French Open Mixed Doubles. His highest ranking in singles was #6 in the world and in doubles was #38 in the world. Tennis career Early years Teltscher was born in Palos Verdes, California and lives in Irvine, California. His mother was born in Mandatory Palestine, and his father Eric, of Austrian descent, was a Holocaust survivor who immigrated to Mandatory Palestine and joined the British military, ultimately becoming an industrial engineer. He began playing tennis when he was nine, and by the time he was 17, he was ranked in the top ten in the United States junior rankings. Björn Borg
Björn Rune Borg (; born 6 June 1956) is a Swedish former world No. 1 tennis player. Between 1974 and 1981, he became the first man in the Open Era to win 11 Grand Slam singles titles with six at the French Open and five consecutively at Wimbledon. Borg won four consecutive French Open titles (1978–81) and is 6–0 in French Open finals. He was the first man since 1886 to contest six consecutive Wimbledon finals, a record surpassed by Roger Federer's seven consecutive finals (2003–09). Ilie Theodoriu Năstase (, born 19 July 1946) is a former World No. 1 Romanian tennis player. He was ranked world No. 1 in singles from 23 August 1973 to 2 June 1974, and was the first man to hold the top position on the computerized ATP rankings.
