Tseng Tai-lin
Tseng Tai-lin (, born in Taipei) is a Taiwanese football (soccer) and futsal player. Nicknamed ''Little Tiger'', Tseng started to play football at Li Nong Elementary School () in Taipei. His usual position is an attacking midfielder. He was once praised as "the best footballer in Taiwan" by then Yugoslavian coach of NSTC football team in 2003. He was also voted the best attacking midfielder during the Chinese Taipei National Football League 2005 season when he played for Ming Chuan University. In addition to association football, Tseng is active in futsal as well. He has represented Chinese Taipei in many international futsal competitions. However, a lasting ankle injury has influenced his performance in recent years. As a result, he was dropped from the Chinese Taipei squad during 2007 AFC Asian Cup qualifications in 2006. Futsal
Futsal is a football-based game played on a hardcourt, hard court smaller than a football pitch, and mainly indoors. It has similarities to five-a-side football and Indoor soccer, indoor football. Futsal is played between two teams of five players each, one of whom is the goalkeeper. Unlimited substitutions are permitted. Unlike some other forms of indoor soccer, it is played on a hard court surface marked by lines; walls or boards are not used. It is played with a smaller, harder, lower-bounce ball than football. The surface, ball and rules favour ball control and passing in small spaces. The game emphasizes control, improvisation, creativity and technique. Conscription In The Republic Of China
Taiwan has maintained a policy of conscription for all qualified males of military age since 1951. The Taiwanese government planned originally to end this policy in 2014, but abolishing conscription is controversial among Taiwanese society, and hence the government has not yet created a firm schedule for its abolition. Females from the outlying islands within the province of Fuchien, which are geographically closest to mainland China, were also required to serve in a civil defense role, although this requirement has been dropped since the lifting of martial law. The 2007 AFC Asian Cup qualification was held in late 2005 and the final qualification round was held from February to November 2006 with 25 nations participating. For the first time, the defending champions (Japan), did not earn an automatic berth in the finals and had to compete in the qualification tournament.
