Tsehay Hawkins
Tsehay Hawkins (, ; born 15 November 2005) is an Australian dancer and singer. In August 2021, she became an auxiliary member of The Wiggles, wearing a red shirt. Later in the year, she replaced Emma Watkins as the Yellow Wiggle. She is the second female to be a member of the group and the first member of African heritage. Early life Tsehay Hawkins was born in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, on 15 November 2005. She was adopted and raised by Australian parents, Robyn and Reg Hawkins, when she was 5 months old and raised in Bargo, south-west of Sydney. From two years old, Hawkins started taking ballet, tap and jazz dance lessons and later followed with Ethiopian and West African styles. Her family also adopted a child from Colombia in 2012, as Hawkins wished for a younger sibling. Tsehay Melaku
Tsehay Melaku (born ) is an Ethiopian writer. She has been called the first contemporary Ethiopian woman novelist, part of a wave of women writers who entered the literary scene in the early 1990s. Early life and teaching career Tsehay was born and grew up in Addis Ababa, in a family of 11 children. Her father was a priest, and he also fought against the Italian occupation of Ethiopia. He died suddenly when she was in high school, so she completed a brief teacher training program and obtained a teaching job to help support her family. She went on to work as a high school teacher for over two decades. During her time as a teacher, Tsehay also spent 10 years volunteering for Legedadi Radio, producing a show on women's empowerment. Writing After many years, Tsehay retired from teaching to pursue writing. She was the first in a new generation of women who began to populate the Eritrean literary scene around 1990. Tsehay Gemechu (born 12 December 1998) is an Ethiopian Long-distance running, long-distance runner. She represented Ethiopia in the women's 5000 metres at the 2019 World Athletics Championships, finishing fourth. Gemechu won the 10,000 metres at the Athletics at the 2019 African Games, 2019 African Games. Career Tsehay Gemechu twice won Delhi Half Marathon (2018, 2019), setting new consecutive course records.
