Tsegaye Degineh
Tsegaye Degineh Gugssa (Ge'ez: ፀጋዬ ደግነህ ጉግሣ, born April 1969) is an Ethiopian economist. He is holder of the Federal Cross of Merit, Knowledge Transfer Activist and the first Ethiopian mainly brought modern Ju-Jitsu to Ethiopia. He received his Ph.D. (2000) at the Department of Economics and Business Administration, Humboldt University Berlin and holds 6th Dan in Ju-Jitsu that initially dominated by the style of the German Ju-Jitsu Federation. He is known as the founder and the first Patron Board President of the Ju-Jitsu Association in Ethiopia (2007) and later the first Board Patron of Judo that merged with the Ju-Jitsu in 2011. Tsegaye Gabre-Medhin
Tsegaye Gabre-Medhin ( am, ጸጋዬ ገብረ መድኅን; 17 August 1936 – 25 February 2006) was an Ethiopian poet and novelist. His novels and poets evoke retrospective narratives, fanciful epics, and nationalistic cannonations. Tsegay is considered to be one of the most novelist along with Baalu Girma and Haddis Alemayehu, his books become successful in commercial sales and in even academic thesis. His works solely based in Amharic and English. Biography Tsegaye Gabre-Medhin was born in Bodaa village, near Ambo, Ethiopia, Ambo, Ethiopia, some 120 km from the capital Addis Ababa. Atsedu Tsegay Tesfay (born 17 December 1991) is an Ethiopian professional long-distance runner. In 2012, he won Prague Half Marathon in a time of 58:47 — the best half marathon performance of the year and an Ethiopian record. His first major international appearance was at the 2010 World Junior Championships in Athletics, where he placed sixth in the 5000 metres final. In 2011 he won the Marseille-Cassis Classique Internationale with a course record of 58:11 minutes and the Corrida de Langueux in another course record of 27:46 minutes. He was also runner-up at the Rabat Half Marathon that year. At the start of the following year he took the bronze medal at the 2012 African Cross Country Championships. Gudaf Tsegay Desta (born 23 January 1997) is an Ethiopian middle- and long-distance runner. She is the 2020 Tokyo Olympic bronze medallist in the women's 5000 metres. At the World Athletics Championships, she won a bronze for the 1500 metres in 2019 and a silver in this event and gold for the 5000 m in 2022. Tsegay is a two-time 1500 m World Indoor Championship medallist, winning gold in 2022 and bronze in 2016. Marcus Velado-Tsegaye (born 1 July 2001) is a professional soccer player who plays for Scrosoppi FC in League1 Ontario. Born in Canada, he represented El Salvador at youth international level. Michael Tsegaye (born 1975 in Addis Ababa) is an Ethiopian artist and photographer. Much of his work presents a glimpse of life in contemporary Ethiopia, although an extended catalogue of his images come from his travels abroad. Samuel Tsegay Tesfamriam (born 24 October 1988) is an Eritrean long-distance runner running for the Swedish track club Hälle IF and currently going through the process of acquiring Swedish citizenship, who specializes in the 5000 metres and 10,000 metres. Tirfi Tsegaye Beyene (born 25 November 1984) is an Ethiopian long-distance runner who competes in marathon races. She has won the Berlin Marathon, the Paris Marathon (in a course record), the Tokyo Marathon (also in course-record time), and the Dubai Marathon. Her personal best of 2:20:18 hours came as winner of the 2014 Berlin Marathon. Yemane Adhane Tsegay (born 8 April 1985) is an Ethiopian long distance runner who specialises in the marathon. He won the 2012 Rotterdam Marathon with a personal best time of 2:04:48 hours. He has also won marathons in Eindhoven, Gyeongju, Macau and Taipei.
