Trøndelag Teater
Trøndelag Teater is a large theater in the city of Trondheim, in Trøndelag county, Norway. Trøndelag Teater stages large-scale dance and musical performances. History Originally built in 1816, the theater is the oldest stage in Scandinavia in continuous use. Initially, the theatre was used by the local Amateur Theatre, and after that by travelling Danish theater companies, some of which used it as a permanent theatre such as Johan Conrad Huusher (1829–1831), Carl Wilhelm Orlamundt (1831–1834), Jacob Mayson (1836–1839) and Gustav Wilhelm Selmer (1839–1848). Between 1861 and 1865 it housed the first permanent Norwegian language theatre in the city, the Throndhjems Theater. Between 1865 and 1911, it was again used by travelling theatre companies. Trondhjems Nationale Scene
Trondhjems nationale Scene was a theatre that opened in Trondheim in 1911, and closed in 1927. The theatre's first artistical director was Thora Hansson, from 1911 to 1913. The opening performance was held on 15 September 1911, with Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson's play ''Sigurd Jorsalfar'' with Grieg's music, and Ibsen's play '' Fruen fra Havet'' was performed the next day. The theatre performed eighteen different plays the first season. After the theatre closed in 1927, it would take ten years until Trondheim again had a permanent theatre, when Trøndelag Teater opened in 1937. Kristian Seltun
Kristian Seltun (born 1970) is a Norwegian dramaturge and theatre director. He graduated as cand.philol. from the University of Bergen. Seltun has been director at the theatres (1998-2001), (2001-2009), and Trøndelag Teater (2010-2018). Sverre Brandt (3 March 1880 – 16 July 1962) was a Norwegian theatre worker and playwright, born in Trondheim. He is remembered for his children's play '' Reisen til Julestjernen'' from 1924, which has been staged numerous times at theatres in Scandinavia, and also adapted into a film. Kirsten Heiberg
Kirsten Heiberg (25 April 1907 – 2 March 1976) was a Norwegian/German actress and singer who had a major film career in Germany between 1938 and 1954. She reached the peak of her career in 1942–43, performing in Joseph Goebbels version of ''Titanic''. After the war she was given a two-year ban by the Allies due to her role in the Nazi propaganda. In Norway she was never punished, as she was a German citizen. Biography Heiberg grew up in the towns Kragerø, Kongsberg and Oslo, and studied in Lausanne, Dijon and Paris. Later, she studied English in Oxford, England. She made her debut at Den Nationale Scene in Bergen in 1929, and in the 1930s at the Carl Johan Theater and Scala Revyteater in Oslo. ''Klassekampen'' ( en, The Class Struggle) is a Norwegian daily newspaper. It describes itself as "the newspaper of the Left." The paper's net circulation is 34,000 (2021), and it has around 111,000 daily readers on paper (160,000 on Saturdays). This makes it the third largest Norwegian print newspaper, based on readership. Chief editor from 2018 is Mari Skurdal. The paper was initially a part of the young marxist-leninist (maoist) movement in Norway. It started out in early 1969 as a monthly periodical published by "a group of marxist-leninists" with Anders M. Andersen as the first editor. Josef Terboven
Josef Terboven (23 May 1898 – 8 May 1945) was a Nazi Party official and politician who was the long-serving ''Gauleiter'' of Gau Essen and the ''Reichskommissar'' for Norway during the German occupation. Early life Terboven was born in Essen, the son of minor landed gentry. The family name comes from the Low German ''dar boven'' ("up there"), referring to a farmstead on a hill. Josef Terboven attended ''volksschule'' and ''realschule'' in Essen until 1915 and then volunteered for military service in the First World War. He served with ''Feldartillerie Regiment'' 9 and then with the nascent air force. He was awarded the Iron Cross, 1st and 2nd class, and attained the rank of Leutnant before being discharged on 22 December 1918. Henry Gleditsch
Henry Cochrane Williamsen Gleditsch (9 November 1902 – 6 October 1942) was a Norwegian actor and theatre director. He was born in Kristiania. In his young days he participated in skiing for SFK Lyn. He married Synnøve Tanvik in 1932. He made his acting debut in 1923, and in 1937 he established and took charge of Trøndelag Teater in Trondheim. He had a satirical style, provoking the authorities of the Occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany. People warned him and advised him to flee to Sweden, but he did not do so. Following skirmishes in Majavatn and sabotages in Glomfjord and Malm, conducted by the Norwegian resistance movement, martial law was declared on 6 October 1942 in and around Trondheim, in Nord-Trøndelag and in Grane.
