Trøndelag County Municipality ( no, Trøndelag fylkeskommune or sma, Trööndelagen fylhkentjïelte) is the democratically elected regional governing administration of Trøndelag county in Norway. The main responsibilities of the county municipality includes the running of 36 upper secondary schools, with 17,000 pupils. It administers thousands of kilometers of county roadways, public transport, dental care, culture, and cultural heritage. County government The Trøndelag county council ( no, Fylkestinget) is made up of 59 representatives that are elected every four years. The council essentially acts as a Parliament or legislative body for the county and it meets about six times each year. Norway is divided into 11 administrative regions, called counties (singular no, fylke, plural nb, fylker; nn, fylke from Old Norse: ''fylki'' from the word "folk", sme, fylka, sma, fylhke, smj, fylkka, fkv, fylkki) which until 1918 were known as '' amter''. Partsrederiet Kystekspressen ANS branded as Kystekspressen or ''the Coast Express'' is a shipping company that operates passenger ferry services between Trondheim and Kristiansund, Norway. Three ships are used on the route, that includes the branch lines Trondheim– Sula and Sistranda–Halten. It had 343,510 passengers in 2005. Fosen Trafikklag is a company operating buses and ferries in Trøndelag and Østlandet in Norway. Boreal Bane AS, trading, and formerly known as, AS Gråkallbanen, is a Norwegian company that operates the remaining part of the Trondheim Tramway, Norway. It operates six trams on the Gråkall Line, that connects the city centre to parts of the suburb of Byåsen, and the recreational area at Lian. It has 800,000 annual passengers, and operates as Line 1.
