Truth (Talisman Album)
''Truth'' was the fifth studio album by Swedish hard rock band Talisman released on 27 December 1998 by Point Music. Marcel Jacob and Jeff Scott Soto wrote most of the material during ten days in Soto's new house in Los Angeles, after which the rest of the band (now including guitar player Pontus Norgren) joined up for a couple of weeks of rehearsals and recording of backing tracks. Drums were laid down in a small studio, and the rest was done in Soto's home studio. The mixing took place in Boston, by John Ellis. The album was released by Point Music for Europe, and Pony Canyon in Japan. Once again there was no touring done for an album, due to the lack of interest by either label to promote the act. The album received mixed critical reviews, though there were notable tracks on the release including Madonna's " Frozen". Talisman (band)
Talisman was a Swedish hard rock band. Founded in 1989 by the songwriting bassist Marcel Jacob and fronted by the American singer Jeff Scott Soto, the band released seven studio albums from 1990 to 2006, before going on a farewell tour in 2007. While mainly described as hard rock and heavy metal, the band's sound had also been influenced by a variety of genres outside the rock music scope, such as rhythm and blues, soul, and funk in particular. After Marcel Jacob died in 2009, Talisman has reunited three times for one-off festival shows held in 2014, 2016, and 2017 with Johan Niemann filling in on bass. In 2019, to mark a ten-year anniversary of Marcel Jacob's passing, Talisman reunited once again to record and release a commemorative song "Never Die". Darling Nikki
"Darling Nikki" is a song produced, arranged, composed, and performed by American musician Prince, originally released on his sixth studio album '' Purple Rain'' (1984). Though the song was not released as a single, it gained wide notoriety for its sexual lyricsin particular an explicit reference to female masturbationand was responsible for the creation of the infamous Parental Advisory sticker. The song tells the story of a "sex fiend" named Nikki who seduces the singer. In the film '' Purple Rain'', for which the album serves as the soundtrack, the song is directed toward Apollonia Kotero's character when she decides to work with Prince's character's rival (played by Morris Day). Compared with the slick production of the other songs on the album, "Darling Nikki" was deliberately engineered to have a raw and live feel. Frank Salerno
Francesco Salerno (1962–7 April 2006), better known as "Frank the Bammer" was a Canadian biker. He was one of the victims of the Shedden massacre. Loner Salerno was born in Toronto, the son of a car dealer. Salerno's experienced troubles in his youth when his parents divorced. Salerno joined the Loners Motorcycle Club as an young man. Salerno had a criminal record, with more than thirty convictions for fraud and theft. Salerno once caused the Loners' clubhouse in Richmond Hill to burn down after falling asleep while he was supposed to be watching a fire. On 24 November 1998, Salerno robbed a Hy & Zel's drugstore in Niagara Falls, stealing 13 cartons of cigarettes. Jamie Borger (born 28 May 1964) is a Swedish drummer who has played in the bands Talisman, Treat and Last Autumn's Dream. Over the years, he also has recorded with Alfonzetti, Adam Thompson, Baltimore, Human Clay, Swedish Erotica and Jeff Scott Soto. He also be involved several unreleased groups like The Three Kings with Jeff Scott Soto and Swedish guitar player Goran Elmquist.
