''True Defiance'' is the sixth studio album by American Christian metal band Demon Hunter (band), Demon Hunter. It was released April 10, 2012. Production work for the album comes from regular Solid State Records, Solid State and Tooth & Nail Records producer Aaron Sprinkle while mixing was finished by Jason Suecof. The album also returns to utilizing three different cover arts specific to each version of the album, much like what the band did with their 2005 album ''The Triptych''. It is also their first album since ''The Triptych'' not to feature any guest musicians. Background "This record is without a doubt our most aggressive. Demon Hunter (band)
Demon Hunter is an American Christian metal band from Seattle, Washington, formed by brothers Don Clark and Ryan Clark in 2000. Ryan is the band's only remaining original member, as Don left in 2009. As of the 2010s, the band has sold over 600,000 albums. History 2000s Demon Hunter was initially conceived as a project band by the Clarks, who had played together previously in the initially Coalesce and Neurosis influenced but later more experimental band Training for Utopia. Ryan had previously played guitar in hardcore band Focal Point, who released a studio album, ''Suffering of the Masses'', on Tooth & Nail Records in 1996 when Ryan was a teenager. A string orchestra is an orchestra consisting solely of a string section made up of the bowed strings used in Western Classical music. Chris Carmichael (musician)
Chris Carmichael is a musician and arranger born in San Antonio, Texas on July 6, 1962. The son of an Air Force fighter pilot, he moved extensively before taking up the violin while living in Hampton, Virginia. After moving to Bowling Green, Kentucky in 1975, he entered into more formal training - studying violin with Western Kentucky University professor Betty Pease (a former student of Ivan Galamian) for eight years. He was the fourth drummer for The Showdown, original drummer for The Lonely Hearts (originally named Holland), and fill-in drummer for Throwdown as well as The Becoming. Ryan Clark (musician)
Ryan Clark (born June 23, 1979) is an American graphic designer and musician who also has performed under the stage name Maven. He is best known as the lead vocalist of the Christian metal band Demon Hunter, which he co-founded with his brother, guitarist Don Clark. He was also the frontman for Christian metalcore band Training for Utopia along with being one of the guitarists for Focal Point.
