Troyan
Troyan ( bg, Троян ) List of cities and towns in Bulgaria, is a town remembering the name of Roman Emperor Trajan, in Lovech Province in central Bulgaria with population of 21,997 inhabitants, as of December 2009. It is the administrative centre of the homonymous Troyan Municipality. The town is about away from the country capital Sofia. The river of Beli Osam passes through the heart of the town. The 2021 Census indicates that the population of the Trojan was 18,449 inhabitants. The ethnic distribution of the inhabitants (as of 2009) is ethnic Bulgarians (87.29%), with minorities being Roma (1.23%) and Turks (1.03%). The ethnicity for 10,21% of inhabitants is not known. Troyan Monastery
The Monastery of the Dormition of the Most Holy Mother of God ( bg, Троянски манастир „Успение Богородично“) or, as it is more commonly called, the Troyan Monastery is the third largest monastery in Bulgaria. It is located in the northern part of the country in the Balkan mountains and was founded no later than the end of the 16th century. The monastery is situated on the banks of the Cherni Osam near Oreshak, Lovech Province, Oreshak, a village 10 km from Troyan in Lovech Province, and is a popular tourist destination. Troyan Municipality ( bg, Община Троян) is a municipality ('' obshtina'') in Lovech Province, Central-North Bulgaria, located from the northern slopes of the central Stara planina mountain to the area of the Fore-Balkan. It is named after its administrative centre - the town of Troyan. The municipality embraces a territory of 888.85 km² with a population of 33,827 inhabitants, as of December 2009. Troyan Peak ( bg, връх Троян, vrah Troyan, ) is a peak rising to 810 m in the Friesland Ridge of the Tangra Mountains in Livingston Island in the South Shetland Islands, Antarctica. It has a steep snow free west slope and surmounts the Ruen Icefall to the north, west and south. The peak is named after the Bulgarian town of Troyan. Levski, Pleven Province
Levski ( bg, Левски ) is a town in central northern Bulgaria, an administrative center of the homonymous Levski Municipality in the very southeast of Pleven Province. Geography Levski Municipality is located on a territory of 414 km2 in the Danubian plain, Tuchenishko-Dolnoosomski region. The predominant relief in the municipality is the plain relief - the town of Levski is located at about 70 m above sea level. The distance to the regional town of Pleven is 50 km. The climate is temperate continental. History The old name of Levski (until 1897) is Karaagach (from Turkish - Black Elm). Lovech ( bg, Ловеч, Lovech, ) is a List of cities and towns in Bulgaria, city in north-central Bulgaria. It is the administrative centre of the Lovech Province and of the subordinate Lovech Municipality. The city is located about northeast from the capital city of Sofia. Near Lovech are the towns of Pleven, Troyan and Teteven. Name The name is possibly derived from the Slavic root ''lov'', "hunting" + the Slavic suffix ''-ech''.
