Troutman is a town in Iredell County, North Carolina, United States. The town is located roughly north of Charlotte. As of the 2020 census the town's population was 3,698. Due to substantial residential growth in the area, as well as neighborhood annexation, the town is experiencing dramatic population growth. Approved residential developments, when completed, are forecast to increase town population to more than 11,000 residents. History The Davidson House was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. Geography Troutman is located in south-central Iredell County at (35.703149, −80.892255). U.S. Route 21 passes through the center of the town, leading north to Statesville, the county seat, and south to Mooresville. Interstate 77 passes east of the town, with access from Exit 42. Mooresville is a large town located in the southwestern section of Iredell County, North Carolina, United States, and is a part of the fast-growing Charlotte metropolitan area. The population was 50,193 at the 2020 United States Census making it the largest municipality in Iredell County. It is located approximately north of Charlotte. Mooresville is best known as the home of many NASCAR racing teams and drivers, along with an IndyCar team and its drivers, as well as racing technology suppliers, which has earned the town the nickname "Race City USA". Joshua Richeson (born September 4, 1981) is an American stock car racing driver. He has made 24 career starts in the NASCAR Busch Series (now Xfinity), one start in the Truck Series, and five in the ARCA Racing Series. He is the nephew of former NASCAR Cup Series driver Brett Bodine. Racing career Richeson made his Nationwide Series debut at Richmond International Raceway in September 2001. He drove the No. 06 Bodine Racing Ford Taurus into the field with a 33rd place qualifying effort, but was involved with a crash on lap 72 and finished 40th. The United States census of 2020 was the twenty-fourth decennial United States census. Census Day, the reference day used for the census, was April 1, 2020. Other than a pilot study during the 2000 census, this was the first U.S. census to offer options to respond online or by phone, in addition to the paper response form used for previous censuses. The census was taken during the COVID-19 pandemic, which affected its administration. The census recorded a resident population of 331,449,281 in the fifty states and the District of Columbia, an increase of 7.4 percent, or 22,703,743, over the preceding decade.
