Trout Creek is a community and unincorporated area in the municipality of Powassan, Parry Sound District in Northern Ontario, Canada. It is in geographic South Himsworth Township; is located on Ontario Highway 11, south of the town centre of Powassan; and is part of the Almaguin Highlands. In was at "the Chalet" in Trout Creek that the first complete set of rules for the Canadian sport of ringette developed by Mirl Arthur "Red" McCarthy were presented to the Society of Directors of Municipal Recreation of Ontario (SDMRO) by the Northern Ontario Recreation Directors Association (NORDA) on May 31, 1965. Parry Sound District is a census division of the Canadian province of Ontario. Its boundaries are District of Muskoka to the south, the Sudbury District to the north-northwest, the French River and Lake Nipissing in the north, Nipissing District and North Bay in the north and east and parts of Algonquin Park in the northeast. Secondary Highway 522B, commonly referred to as Highway 522B, is a provincially maintained highway in the Canadian province of Ontario. The highway is in length, connecting Highway 522 within Trout Creek with Highway 11 to the north. The highway was created in late 2002 when the Trout Creek Bypass of Highway 11 opened; Highway 522B forms a portion of the former routing. Route description Highway 522B follows a portion of the old alignment of Highway 11 through the community of Trout Creek alongside a Canadian National Railway line. The highway begins at an intersection from which Highway 522 travels south and west. Highway 522B travels north on a slight angle to the grid layout of Trout Creek. Ontario Highway 522
Secondary Highway 522, commonly referred to as Highway 522, is a provincially maintained highway in the Canadian province of Ontario. The highway is in length, connecting Highway 69 near Cranberry with Highway 11 at the community of Trout Creek. Highway 522 serves as the only link between these two routes south of Highway 17 and north of Highway 124. It is often used to access Grundy Lake Provincial Park, a popular camping area for northbound travellers. Highway 522 was established between Loring and Trout Creek alongside many other secondary highways in 1956.
