Georges Trouillot
Georges Marie Denis Gabriel Trouillot (7 May 1851 – 20 November 1916) was a French Radical politician. He played a central role in developing the law of 1901 that governed associations such as agricultural cooperative. He was Minister of the Colonies in 1898 and again in 1909–10. He was Minister of Industry, Commerce and Posts in 1902–05 and again in 1905–06. He published several books, including both poetry and political subjects. Michel-Rolph Trouillot
Michel-Rolph Trouillot (November 26, 1949 – July 5, 2012; PhD, Johns Hopkins 1985) was a Haitian American academic and anthropologist. He was Professor of Anthropology and of Social Sciences at the University of Chicago. He was best known for his books ''Open the Social Science'' (1990), '' Silencing the Past: Power and the Production of History'' (1995), and ''Global Transformations'' (2003), which explored the origins and application of social science in academia and its implications in the world. Trouillot has been one of the most influential thinkers of Afro-Caribbean diaspora, because he developed wide-ranging academic work centered on Caribbean issues. Ertha Pascal-Trouillot
Ertha Pascal-Trouillot (born 13 August 1943) is a Haitian politician who served as the provisional President of Haiti for 11 months in 1990 and 1991. She was the first woman in Haitian history to hold that office and the first female president of African descent in the Americas. Childhood Ertha Pascal-Trouillot was born on Aug. 13, 1943, in the well-to-do suburb of Pétion-Ville in the cool hills above the crowded capital. Lyonel Trouillot
Lyonel Trouillot (born 31 December 1956, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti) is a novelist and poet in French and Haitian Creole, a journalist and a professor of French and Creole literature in Port-au-Prince. Early life Lyonel Trouillot was born in a family of lawyers. The writer Évelyne Trouillot and the writer and educator Jocelyne Trouillot are his sisters. Following his parents' divorce in the late 1960s, he went to the United States with his mother. He returned to Haiti at age 19, in 1975. Between 1980 and 1982, political repression forced Trouillot to emigrate to Miami. He studied at law, but he switched to literature early in his career. Career Trouillot has contributed to different newspapers and magazines in Haiti. He has published poetry, and also writes song lyrics for such musical artists as Tambou Libète and Manno Charlemagne. Jocelyne Trouillot
Marie-Jocelyne Trouillot (born April 21 1948) is a Haitian writer and educator. Biography Marie-Jocelyne Trouillot was born in Port-au-Prince, April 21 1948. She is the daughter of Ernst Trouillot and Anne Marie Morisset. Her siblings are the writers Lyonel Trouillot and Évelyne Trouillot. Trouillot graduated from the École normale supérieure in Haiti and then went on to study psychology and education at Université de Bordeaux. She received a master's degree in bilingual education from Long Island University. Trouillot taught for several years, also developing educational materials for Haitian children. After moving to Florida, she completed a doctoral degree at Florida Atlantic University. For a number of years, she directed bilingual education for schools in Dade County. After the Duvalier regime in Haiti ended, she returned to Haiti, where she was a co-founder of the Université Caraïbe.
