Tropical Storm Harvey
The name Harvey was used for six tropical cyclones in the Atlantic Ocean and once in the Australian region tropical cyclone, Australian region. In the Atlantic Ocean: * Hurricane Harvey (1981) – threatened Bermuda but moved away. * Hurricane Harvey (1993) – short-lived storm that did not threaten land. * Tropical Storm Harvey (1999) – Made landfall in Florida, causing $15 million in damage. * Tropical Storm Harvey (2005) – threatened Bermuda. * Tropical Storm Harvey (2011) – strong tropical storm that affected parts of Central America. * Hurricane Harvey (2017) – Category 4 hurricane that caused catastrophic flooding in Texas. The name ''Harvey'' was retired after the 2017 season due to the extensive amount of damage and loss of life it caused along its track. It will be replaced with ''Harold'' for the 2023 season. An Australian region tropical cyclone is a non-frontal, low-pressure system that has developed within an environment of warm sea surface temperatures and little vertical wind shear aloft in either the Southern Indian Ocean or the South Pacific Ocean. Within the Southern Hemisphere there are officially three areas where tropical cyclones develop on a regular basis: the South-West Indian Ocean between Africa and 90°E, the Australian region between 90°E and 160°E, and the South Pacific basin between 160°E and 120°W. Hurricane Harvey (1981)
The 1981 Atlantic hurricane season featured direct or indirect impacts from nearly all of its 12  tropical or subtropical storms. Overall, the season was fairly active, with 22 tropical depressions, 12 of which became a namable storm, while 7 of those reached hurricane status and 3 intensified into major hurricanes. The season officially began on June 1, 1981, and lasted until November 30, 1981. These dates conventionally delimit the period of each year when most tropical cyclones form in the Atlantic basin. The 1993 Atlantic hurricane season was a below average Atlantic hurricane season that produced ten tropical cyclones, eight tropical storms, four hurricanes, and one major hurricane. Tropical Storm Harvey (1999)
Tropical Storm Harvey was a moderately strong tropical storm that caused flooding across south Florida during the 1999 Atlantic hurricane season. The tenth tropical cyclone and eighth named storm of the season, Harvey developed from a tropical wave in the Gulf of Mexico on September 19. After forming, the system gradually intensified and became a tropical storm early on September 20. Throughout the rest of its duration, Harvey slowly intensified as it headed eastward. Late on September 21, Harvey made landfall in Southwest Florida with winds of 60 mph (95 km/h). Harvey emerged into the Atlantic early on September 22, but was absorbed by an extratropical cyclone. The 2005 Atlantic hurricane season was the most active Atlantic hurricane season in history, until the record was broken 15 years later in 2020. The season broke numerous records at the time, with 28 tropical or subtropical storms recorded. The United States National Hurricane Center named 27 storms, exhausting the annual pre-designated list and resulting in the usage of six Greek letter names, and also identified an additional unnamed storm during a post-season re-analysis. Tropical Storm Harvey was the final tropical cyclone in a record-breaking string of eight consecutive storms that failed to attain hurricane intensity. The eighth tropical cyclone and eighth named storm of the 2011 Atlantic hurricane season, Harvey developed from a tropical wave in the western Caribbean Sea on August 19.
