''Tropeang Peay'' ( km, ត្រពាំងពាយ) is a 1970 Khmer film starring Kong Som Eun and Vichara Dany. Novel The film was originally written as a novel by Ly Taly in the late 1960s before it was produced as a film in 1970. Remakes The film was remade in 2007 by KPV Productions. The 2007 version stars Heng Bunleap and Danh Monika. Career Kong Som Eun ranked higher than all Cambodian actors of the late 1960s and early 1970s. He starred in more than half of the films released per year from the years 1967–1975 giving him a total of more than 120 films in less than ten years. His career was cut short when the Khmer Rouge took power in Cambodia in 1975. It is believed that he died in 1976 under circumstances that remain unclear. Tith Vichara Dany (Khmer: ទិត្យ វិជ្ជរ៉ាដានី) was a popular Cambodian actress who most likely made her debut in 1967. She starred in a majority of films, which include '' Thavory Meas Bong'', ''Tep Sodachan'', and ''Sovann Pancha,'' during the nation's golden age of cinema. She is often paired on screen with fellow actor Kong Sam-Oeurn. Other notable actors she started with are Chea Yuthorn and ''Vann Vannak''. In only a span of at least seven years, she is credited with having starred in over one hundred films. Sinn Sisamouth
Sinn Sisamouth; (c. 1932 – c. 1976) was a Cambodian singer-songwriter active from the 1950s to the 1970s. Widely considered the "King of Khmer Music", Sisamouth, along with Ros Serey Sothea, Pen Ran, Mao Sareth, and other Cambodian artists, was part of a thriving pop music scene in Phnom Penh that blended elements of Khmer traditional music with the sounds of rhythm and blues and rock and roll to develop a Cambodian rock sound. Danh Monika
Danh Monica (born 4 November 1986) is a Cambodian actress of the 2000s along with Keo Pich Pisey, Veth Rattana, Suos Sotheara, Chan Leakenna, Keo Nisa, Duch Sophea, and Sarai Sakana. She is the only Cambodian actress today who started acting as a child actor and who is skilled in classical Cambodian ballet. Early life Monica was born to Danh Vansa and Men Chan Nary, a performing arts teacher. As an only child from a wealthy family, Danh Monica was very fortunate to have all the resources she would need to be what she wanted, an actress. Ros Serey Sothea ( km, រស់ សេរីសុទ្ធា/ ; c. 1948 – c. 1977) was a Cambodian singer. She was active during the final years of the First Kingdom of Cambodia and into the Khmer Republic period. She sang in a variety of genres; romantic ballads emerged as her most popular works. Despite a relatively brief career she is credited with singing hundreds of songs. She also ventured into acting, starring in a few films. Details of her life are relatively scarce. She disappeared during the Khmer Rouge regime of the late 1970s but the circumstances of her fate remain a mystery. Norodom Sihanouk granted Sothea the honorary title "Queen with the Golden Voice."
