Trondheim Trafikkselskap
Trondheim Trafikkselskap or TT was the city public transport company for Trondheim, Norway between 1974 and 2001. It operated both the city buses, and the Trondheim Tramway until 1988. The company was owned by the city council. TT was founded in 1972 as a merger between the municipal-owned tramway companies Trondheim Sporvei and Graakalbanen, and the bus company Bynesruten. In 1974, the company was reorganized as a municipal agency, and also took over the private bus operator Trondheim Bilruter, along with the city bus lines of Klæburuten and NSB Bilruter. In 2001, the company merged with Hemne og Orkladal Billag to create Team Trafikk, that was later sold to Nettbuss. NSB Biltrafikk was the former road transport division of the Norwegian State Railways from the first bus routes in 1925, as a subsidiary of NSB BA from 1 December 1996, until it was divided into bus operator Nettbuss and truck operator Nettlast on 10 February 2000. A bus (contracted from omnibus, with variants multibus, motorbus, autobus, etc.) is a road vehicle that carries significantly more passengers than an average car or van. Coat Of Arms Of Trondheim
The coat of arms of Trondheim is based on the medieval seal of the city. The seal is probably from the 13th century, but its earliest preserved form is on a document from 1344. The coat of arms was assumed by the city council in 1897, and has a more intricate design than most other Norway, Norwegian coats of arms. It features to the left (heraldic right) a church portal with an archbishop with a bishop's staff and a mitre, to the right (heraldic left) a castle portal with a king with a crown holding a set of scales. The portals and figures rest on an arch beneath which are three male heads. The king and archbishop symbolises the town's status as the first capital of Norway and as the residence of the archbishop. The MAN SL200 was a transit bus manufactured by MAN between 1973 and 1988, and was based on the first generation German VöV-Standard-Bus body design. More than 5500 units were built of the standard left-hand drive version.
