Troieschyna-2 (Kyiv Light Rail)
Troieshchyna-2 ( uk, Троєщина-2) is a station on the Livoberezhna Line of the Kyiv Light Rail system. It was opened on October 26, 2012. Troieshchyna-2 is a terminus station located after the Romana Shukhevycha station. The Livoberezhna line is the second line of the Kyiv Light Rail, located in the eastern part of Kyiv. The tram corridor was opened on May 26, 2000, rebuilt from 2010 to 2012, and reopened again on October 25, 2012. Trams No 4 and No 5 run along the Livoberezhna Line. At one point, the Kyiv City Administration proposed extending the Kyiv Metro system to Troieschyna by creating the Livoberezhna Line, although this proposal was scrapped in 2014 in favor of keeping the light rail system. A side platform (also known as a marginal platform or a single-face platform) is a platform positioned to the side of one or more railway tracks or guideways at a railway station, tram stop, or transitway. A station having dual side platforms, one for each direction of travel, is the basic design used for double-track railway lines (as opposed to, for instance, the island platform where a single platform lies between the tracks). Kyivpastrans is a municipal company that operates public transport in Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. Its operations include electric trams, city buses and trolleybuses. It also operates the Kyiv Funicular and some urban rail lines. Kyivpastrans was established on October 2, 2001, by the Kyiv City Council to replace KP "Kyivelektrotrans" and the Kyiv City Territorial-Production Union of Automobile Transport. Romana Shukhevycha ( uk, Романа Шухевича; from 2000 to 2008, Vatutina; from 2008 to 2022, Henerala Vatutina) is a station on the Livoberezhna Line of the Kyiv Light Rail system. It was opened on May 26, 2000 and reopened after a significant modernization of the line on October 26, 2012. Romana Shukhevycha is located in between the Kashtanova and Troieschyna-2 stations. It was previously named in honor of General Nikolai Vatutin, a Soviet military commander during World War II. On January 4, 2022, it was renamed in honor of Roman Shukhevych, a military leader of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army and Nazi collaborator. Kyiv Urban Electric Train
The Kyiv Urban Electric Train ( uk, Київська міська електричка, translit=Kyivska miska elektrychka) is an urban rail transit passenger service in Kyiv, Ukraine. The service is operated by Ukrainian Railways and Kyivpastrans. The project uses a long-existing railroad ring in the city for peak hour circulation of electric multiple unit trains. Working 2 since September 2009 Kyiv Urban Electric Train is the first instance of a combined municipal railway service and an intracity passenger rail route in Ukraine, and arguably in the former Soviet Union as a whole. The ring was fully completed on 4 October 2011, the full length of lines is 50.8 km with 15 stations. Opening hours are from 5:48 until 21:37 with a time between trains of between 10 and 30 minutes. 12 trains operate on the line; the fastest time to complete a loop is 1 hour and 25 minutes. Troieshchyna (, uk, Троєщина, lit=Trinity, translit=Troyeshchyna) also known as Vyhurivschyna-Troieshchyna since 1997 (, uk, Вигурівщина-Троєщина) is a large neighborhood of Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, the biggest subdivision in Ukraine. Troieshchyna is an outskirt located on the city's northern left-bank and is administratively part of the Desnianskyi District. Overview The neighborhood is a large whole-planned bedroom district housing the population of at least 240,000 residents but also includes a small industrial area. Troieshchyna only became part of Kyiv municipality in 1988; prior to that it was a village of Kyiv Oblast which still exists on the edge of the new neighborhood.
